:biggrin:Morning V's~

I am watching SNL now...love it! Michelle, did you see Cheetah on the Sunday morning show? He lives somewhere in my neighborhood...now we really want to find him and see if we can visit.

We always stay in bed and drink coffee and watch that show...we love it and really enjoy our "Sunday tradition". Then we come out to the den, she reads the paper and I go on the puter...life is good!

Today is the season opening for Susanne's softball league! We are going to the park early for the kick off...and to relax...should be nice.

Have a great Sunday! Susie and Jane...ARE WE LOVING ALL MY CHILDREN...cant wait til Mon!!!

Anyone see "W" yet...can't wait for that either. We were gonna go yesterday, but were too tired.

Happy Birthday Haydee!!! Hope you have an absolutely wonderful day!!!!

Suzanne---170 pounds! Wow what an accomplishment! You should be so proud, can you just imagine the wear and tear you have saved your body in the last 2 years? And you continue to have the drive, and determination, and the weight is still coming off--soo proud of you!

Pamela, Susannes, softball is beginning, just as ours is ending! We have tournament playoffs this week---which is a joke....but hey someone has to be the losers, it will just be us!!!

We had a blast playing yesterday. I took a bag of roasted, salted peanuts in the shell, and ate some, I think that was what tore my tummy up. By the time midnight rolled around, it felt better, and I went to bed! Gonna eat soft foods, and carefully today. It has been a month since my surgery, so I would think anything would be ok, but apparantly not!!

Rick and I are puppy sitting for our friends this week. This should make or break us on the get a dog issue!!! There is a beautiful little border collie in the paper today from our local pound. That is what I want......but not now, now that we told Danny and Leslie we would watch their dog---she is going to ABQ for training with United Blood Services, and he is going to go with her, she ask me, I made Rick make the call, and he said ok. I was shocked, but we will have her from Monday to Thursday night! Could be interesting. Kinsey will love it anyway!

We are going for a ride today. Not sure where, not really caring. I am headed out in a few minutes, to get some saddle time in, and then when Rick gets off we will take the bike! Perfect, beautiful day for both.

Will check in when I get back.

TracyK Did Walmart have all you needed in pants for Macy? Let me know.

Hugs!

Kat

Thank you for all the birthday wishes!! It's been a wonderful day so far. We slept in, then had brunch at a wonderful place near downtown. I ate way too much but didn't worry too much about it! Getting ready to go to my mom's house for my party. I'm like 10 years old again. I asked for balloons and cake and ice cream, LOL. The only sad part is that my dad is out of town on business and he couldn't fly in for my birthday. He said he'd make it up to me when he got back though...

Wedding last night was just beautiful. We had a wonderful day for an outdooor wedding. The party was supposed to end at 11 but since everyone was having so much fun we just let it run on... It was 130am before the last of the guests left. But everyone had a great time and that's all that matters...

Okay, i'm off again! Thank you again for my birthday wishes! Love you guys!!!

Getting ready to go for my Sunday evening walk with the lady on the next block over. dinner is partially made.

I actually managed to sew for about 5 hours today. I loved it. I also got caught up on stuff that was recorded on TiVo. SNL was hysterical. Even hubby got a kick out of it.

Haydee, I'm so glad you had a good day. I love balloons too. Sounds like the wedding was just what everyone needed.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Hugs to you all.

Happy Birthday Haydee!!!!

Pamela, you have me mixed up with someone else in re to AMC. I watch One Live to Live and GH. But we almost into the sweeps so this is when soaps start getting good!! Plus I am over a month behind. I am watching Sept 17th show today! I aggravate my customers who watch it because they can't talk to me about it. I don't mind knowing in advance what happens, cause by the time I watch I will forget, but they want me to be caught up. Oh well....

I had the weirdest dream last night. I dreamt I got fired from my job by Leon. He is my old boss, but since now I rent I don't have a boss, just me. Anyways I got fired because I was too fat. He fired me and my family had an intervention with me and sent me to a fat rehab. I did meet another violet there who has done wonders so won't say because I don't want to hurt their feelings, but it was soooo strange. I kept being worried about my perms, now if I had a boss I wouldn't have my own things, so it was weird, but aren't dreams supposed to be odd? I usually don't dream. Maybe the medicine I am taking is starting to help my sleep and make me sleep more soundly. It is weird though, when I do remember dreams. I guess I am so used to not having dreams, that when I do it is odd.

I am rambling again. Oh well I hope everyone is having a great day!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAYDEE!!

I've been thinking about you and the wedding this weekend! I'm so glad ya'll let them party on...how cool! The weather was picture perfect for it, eh?

I think I finally wore my dog out this weekend. We went to the bark park yesterday and today, and he's been sleeping since about 4:00! He never sleeps this much! LOL

I dabbled in some jewelry--a couple pieces are in my shop. Haydee, I finished your necklace and it will be in the mail to you tomorrow.

I really, really don't feel like going to work tomorrow!! I have no complaints about the job itself or the people, I just HATE getting up and trying to think of what to wear!!? That's the worst part. If I could just throw on some capri's and a Tshirt I'd be one happy little worker bee!

Nighty-night. I'm pooped today, too.

What a wunnerful, wunnerful day!!!! Wish I could have a bunch more of them!!

Went riding, and if possible I really think that Suede loved it as much as I did. Usually the issue of her speeding up the closer we get to home is a given....not today, she kept trying to turn away----and I swear she was smiling as we went....you could see her breathing in the fall weather change, she kept tossing her head and quivering her nostrils...that is how she tells me she is happy! I want to take Kinsey a couple more times before winter---but tomorrow is out, I get to go get the girls smushed, as my last test. No news yet, that is a GREAT sign!!!! Red flags pop quick, and warrant a phone call! So not hearing anything until the all clear is really good!

I bought a new pair of jeans yesterday---the kind I love....sized a bit off!!! I bought an 8---and should have got a 6------they were made in some alternate universe!! I am a solid 10! Most times, I can take a handful of 10's to the dressing room, and within reason they all fit....but this one I had to go down, and would have gone another size, but the length was not right....hoping they wash up and fit perfectly! And I will ogle the size tag often!!! LOL

Haydee, hope your party was wonderful!!! Lots of pretty balloons, and yummy cake and ice cream!

We had fish for dinner....not something we do often, but it was good. We went for a motorcycle ride, when Rick got off, stopped and visited with his folks, and our son, DIL and grandson...then come home and ate.

I did not accomplish a lot today, but it was soooo nice!

See all of you tomorrow.

Kat

Sure, Pamela - I'll put them in the mail today! I'll have to make myself a pair, too! I love that blue color 'cause anytime you're wearing jeans, they go with the outfit! Thanks for your biz!

Good Morning, getting a few things done before I head to work. Than from there I go see the Doc. Than a friend of mine moved about a month ago and I haven't seen her since. Well she only lives about 4 miles from there, so I'm gonna go over to her house for a visit. I probably won't be home till around 7pm. Long day for me.

Everyone have a great day and ditto on the make the right choices. Just wish I could get that thru my head.

Hugs to all.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
