OMG, Hero and I went to the 6 acre bark park and he ran FULL OUT for 45 straight minutes... except for the times when he plopped down into the mud puddles. He had so much fun!!!! I'm pooped!

Just got home from our hospital shift. It was ind of an easy night. I lie it that way. I don't like coming home all pooped and tired out.

Thursday is my only day off from work and they have scheduled a staff meeting for tomorrow. Well, at least it's for only an hour. This one will be interesting. She is cutting work hours. Actually she is cutting store hours so that affects us. The clients are real unhappy about it. They don't like the fewer hours to work out. So I'm anxious to hear if things will change.

I have a slight chill in my bones. I don't think I'm coming down with anything. It's the cooler air coming in that's doing it. Guess it's about time to get the electric blanket out and on the bed.

Have a great evening.

Good evening, Violets.

I left at 1:30 today and didn't get home until 7:30. Finished my last flute rehearsal and did our gig at the Senior Citizen's home, went to my church meeting and then directed choir for an hour. Now I am done with all my committments until we get back from the cruise. I'm FREE!!

I ate really good today.

B: 1 egg, 1 turkey sausage patty, 1 slice cheese I was able to eat 3/4 of it.

L. 1 Tomato Soup at Hand

D: 1 cup broccoli cheese Soup with ham

S: 1 Fiber Bar

I didn't get my 5 meals in today because of my schedule, but I wasn't hungry in between meals. I went from noon to 7:30 without snacking and that's a MAJOR accomplishment for me.

I got a call from my friend Kathy today. She sailed through the surgery yesterday and is feeling great. She's so anxious to start this new life. She's lost 100# before, but gained it all back and more. She said the beautiful thing about the band is she doesn't have to fear losing and then gaining it all back ever again. She knows about the struggles, but she also knows you pick yourself up like we all are doing, dust yourself off and start all over again. It's not how many times you start.. it's about the finish!

Going to hit the hot tub and do my exercises and then head to bed. I have NOTHING on the agenda tomorrow!!! woooo hooooo!

Everyone have a great evening... sleep well.

Wow Terry, my dog is LAZY, she will run for literally 20 seconds outside, then plop down and look at you like you're crazy if you try to get her to play. Sounds like you have a new exercise buddy!!!

I had 1/2 order of catfish fillet, some turnip greens and some fries at CB.. but at bowling I had 1/2 of Russell's grilled cheese sandwhich, I was SO HUNGRY. No Smokes, no deathly urges to have one.. wanted on a few times out of boredom, but I survived.

Got some pecan pralines (they're actually pecans coated in something, not caramel, like a powder) and coconut bites.. I'm a bad girl, good news is I tried the pecans and I don't like them. so..

I put a computer on ebay for a customer tonight. I hope it turns out okay. I am nervous Nelly about it. It is a brand new laptop that he won at the casino, but still worries me. But, hopefully I will make some extra money on the deal.

Was a sort of short day today. Got up early, went to the memorial service, then came to my house for a little bit with my best friend, and we sat on my deck and just talked. Then I had to go to work. Could have stayed on the deck for days I think.

Nothing really new, except for I have had this feeling for two days now that I am supposed to do something VERY IMPORTANT. I can't for the life of me think of anything. I hope I am not forgetting anything!!

Michelle, feel better!!!!

How is both Tracys?

Haydee, we are so alike. Plus I knew what a Mandoline was, I have one!

Judy is getting ready for a cruise...................

Hi Gina, Kat, Susie, Pamela, Denise, Jenn, Terri and Hero!!

Special thoughts with you Laura!!!!!!!! How far is Tunica from you? Maybe sometime I can drive there and meet you if it is not real far for you. It is about a 4 or 5 hour drive for me. I am always up for a dinner or lunch. Although I am coming up on crazy times.

Have a good night and I hope pleasant dreams are occuring!!!!!

Good Morning.

Janie, maybe sometime after the first of the year I can come and pick you up and we can go to Tunica and meet up with Laura. We'll have to watch the weather but it's something that we can do on your days off.

Today is my day off. Yeaaaaaa......

I have my Tai Chi class tonight. I've had about 3 people ask me when they can sign up for the next class. So it looks like I might tae the class again. I do really like it.

Morning Vi's~

I woke up in the night w/ such bad pain in my lower tummy (I think intestional). For lack of a better explanation, I feel like I ate a 2x4 and am now trying to pass it. I took some GasX and rubbed it and it went away enough to sleep. Man, it hurt and this morning it still hurts. Not like in the night though, I thought maybe I should do the ER, it hurt that bad.

So I got an email from my dad yesterday that says Sat. is supposed to be the FIRST FREEZE of the season and it is SUPPOSED TO SNOW!!! Oh my! I have to rethink the carry on bag now! Wish me luck. Think I will wear jeans and take my leather jacket (which I rarely get to wear here) and then some sweats around the house. I am soooo nervous for this trip. I really need purple power cause I DO NOT WANT TO CRY IN FRONT OF HIM.

Did good on the pie hole report yesterday...well 'cept all that evil candy that kept popping into my mouth. I am trying, but yes stress is really bad for me!

I love you all. xoxoxoxoxo

Pam, Good luck on your trip. This what I have to say to you about going. Stop fretting over the little stuff. Go with the thought in your head that you are there to enjoy your time with your dad. Do the things that you NEED to do and not the things that you think you have to do. Like not crying. If you need to cry then do it. Let your dad know your feelings and that it's all part of your love for him. You are going to miss him and it is going to hurt, but you will be ok. Hold his hand when you need to. Hug him the whole time you are there. Talk to him about anything you want to talk about. Tell him all about us. Share your life with him. Ask him questions. Take walks. Go get ice cream. Watch a movie. Just be you and everything will turn out ok. Don't worry about what your going to wear or how your hair looks. Your dad won't care. He's just going to be so glad to see you. Enjoy, enjoy and enjoy your time with him. That's all that counts. He loves you and you love him and everthing else is in the past.

I'm sending all my Purple Power to you. You will have your Violet Angel sitting on your shoulder the whole time.

It was a sight to see, Laura. He was just a BLUR the whole time and probably could have gone like that for 2 hours. I thought he would pass out when we got home, but NO! He was ready to go again! It's so much fun to have a puppy (but one who is house trained already and doesn't chew)!!!!

Good morning girls! How's everyone today? My office building smells like BBQ today. We set up the grills and smokers outside by the warehouse entrance but people kept coming in and out all night so the smoke drifted in here some. Party was awesome! It's always fun to hang out and just be people with your co-workers. We don't have that chance very often.

Well this morning on my way to work some guy side swiped me. Pretty bad dent on my left rear panel. Just a kid, not being careful. I'm fine, nothing major but now I have to get this taken care of with time that I don't have.

Off to get my coffee...

Good morning, Violets..

I was up at 6 to let the dog out and then sat at the computer for half an hour while it tried to boot up. I was getting really frustrated. Then I got a message from Norton that there was an attempt to hack my computer, so that's why it was taking so long. It's working fine now, thank goodness. 90% of my life is tied up in this thing!!!

PamELa..I agree totally with what Susie said. Enjoy every moment with your dad this weekend. Laugh, cry, savor each memory. And LIVE with him this weekend!!

Terry... Hero sounds so lively!! You're blessed to have found each other.

Today is final day for packing. The Bobster says he's done, but thinks he overpacked so I'll have to check that out. I'll be doing laundry and cleaning the house so we don't come back to work to do. Ethan comes tomorrow and I get my nails done, then we leave Saturday morning.

Gotta go get some things done. Will check back later...

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
