Welcome back Lunasa, We missed you.

Also welcome to WW. My world. I also attend weekly meetings. I can't really follow how many points I am allowed but I do use that to know if I'm going over my limit in useless calories. I also need the support that I get from everyone I have met there. I use it along with my band as my tools to help lose the weight. It's a great help to me and I hope that you will have luck. Bless You.

Look at you Jenn-FANTASTIC!:thumbup:WAY TO GO!

Judy-way to go on losing your cruise weight !!

Well as I sit here I am still smoke free and plan to stay that way. Thanks for cheering me on!

Macy is home. She was a very good girl at her mawmaw & pops house. It gave me time to go buy Easter Bunny stuff. OMG....so much candy:blink: Those little reeses eggs are calling me from the closet....I can hear them calling my name. I have gained a few pounds so I am really hoping it is Water weight from TOM. I need to lose 6 pounds to get back down to the 173 I WAS down to. THAT SUCKS. YEP, you added correctly, I am at 179 but I should have known better than to get on the scales during TOM. :tt2:

OK, I will quit complaining now.

Have a great night everyone!

Yes, I am TOM and weighed myself and got in a funk about it. Friggin scale.. and TOM. This drug better fix my skin issues, I don't have TOM for just anything.. last time I suffered through the motions was for banding.

Mom came over, DH is visiting his parents today, so I downloaded from Amazon's unbox.. Joshua. UGH. The preview looks good & scary, but it was like watching a horrible independent film. The first 90 minutes is boring and slow and stupid.. last 10 minutes just makes you go "Huh?" and then they end it without explaining. Mom was falling asleep during the whole thing.

I made my slow cooked chili, haven't been hungry yet today. Had an OJ for b'fast.. and tried a bite of mom's shrimp scampi.

JENNIFER!! You look great!! I love the hair too, it's like mine

And I've told ya'll, my secondlife store specializes in stripper & clubwear.. hehe.. so most everything I make is slutty and skanky. It sells better than normal clothes.. I do both, but for something like patty's day, the dancers & strippers are out looking for dancing costumes. Works like a charm, sold over 10 of both today.

Hey ladies!

We are back---had a great day yesterday---we walked tons! Had a great time, and I ate pretty good--my only downfall was I did not drink very well--I did a large 32 oz. tea during the bike show, and then had 2 glasses of tea at dinner--yeah I know!!! BUT!!! I needed to get some Fluid in. I was trying to do a balancing act, it is not a busy area between me & Albq. bathrooms are few and far between---so ya gotta plan on holding it for a hundred miles, so I kinda slacked on the water! I had a frito pie for breakfast!!! Well it was 11 ish---Becky & I were having good luck in the casino and missed the Breakfast buffet!!! So I hit a vendor at the rally/bike show and had a frito pie, which was 90% chile. I told her just sprinkle a few chips on top--was good, I didn't even eat all of them!

Then we had steak, ribs, and salad for dinner---so it was ok---no candy, no sweets, no alcohol!! I behaved so good I almost didn't recognize myself!!!

The bikes were awesome! And the body exhibit show was incredible we spent a looooong time there. Coming home in the dark---yeah we stopped and I won another $63.00--early in the day I won $62.00---both of those are subtracting the $5.00 bill I started with!!! I had won more at a point, but luck turned!!! Anyway coming home in the dark, Becky and I were snoozing, and out of the dark comes her voice....I saw dead people! Cracked me up---course I was so tired everything was funny!!!

TracyKS--yes I was banded in Mexicali, MX by Dr. Alberto Aceves. Someone mentioned contacting WasABubbleButt for info---we share the same Dr. He has a link on the bottom of the home page.

Contact me anytime, I was thrilled with my experience!

Terry---I love the rings---they look so summery and fun!

Jenn---big huge change in those pics----I too like your hair! Looks like you were having fun!

Judy---Kinsey sleeps here like it is not a big deal--this truly is her home away from home!!! She has her own room! I bought her the cutest little flip flops in the Disney store yesterday!

TracyK---congrats my dear!!! It is hard to make the decision to quit! I quit on April 1st, 1991. Cold Turkey, without a doubt one of the best things I ever did!!! Rick quit in 1990....we often speak of what if we both still smoked, and the cost....etc. He used a product they had back then called Cigarrest....he had gum, and a tape to listen to, but it suggested a lot of the same things they say today!!!

When it gets hard---call one of us! Or walk over and lean down and say kissy sweet things to your honey---cuz your breath with be FRESH!!

Michelle---sorry the soccer did not go great, but glad you had a safe trip!!!

Suzie---a pool!! How fun!! I was terrible at the upkeep on a hot tub---I know a pool is beyond me!!!

Denise---glad you got your card, and hope your day was a great one.

Laura---your Mom was lost without your Dad--that is sweet though! Go to the Dr. you may have asthma kicking up due to the illness.

Lunasa-glad you come by again!!! Keep it up! I like the sounds of the Dr. he seemed very intuitive! Glad you are working it again!

Pamela---It looks like Rick and I might be going to see his buddy in Fresno---sometime this summer! I will be in touch before then of course....probably every single stinking day!!! LOL Anyway I was excited at the thought!!! I was teasing him.....ok I told him, drop me at Pamela's on your way!! I like his friend, but he is single, and if his kids are with him for any of the time, it seems they think I am the entertainment!!! Although his DD is entering teens now, so they may think I am too old to bother! LOL

Jane---did your customers show up??? I love the Viagra story. My neighbor is a goofball kind of old man, he popped off the other day about wanting to just once have to call a Dr. for a Cialis overdose before he died....and walked off muttering about 4 hours! HE was talking to Rick and Spence another neighbor---not me! I was just within ear shot!

Gina---Where ya been at girl???

Today we got all my FIL's cows branded! Rick and I did it all by ourselves! Lenny helped us round 'em up, and herd them into the corral---but sending them through the chute, squeezing them, branding them, innoculating them, powdering them---we did all the rest on our own! It is a job for 4-5 people. 2-3 on the chute and 2-3 in the corral. I operated the chute ON MY OWN! Rick ran them in to me--I would lock in their heads, and drop the back gate, and squeeze them. He would come out of the corral, squeeze them a bit tighter, and grab the brand. Then I held onto the squeeze bar for all I was worth while he burned 'em. I'll tell ya one thing, I was more effective at that job, a hundred pounds ago!!! Those damn cows toss me like a fish out of Water now!!! I would be hanging from the bar---literally putting every ounce of me into it, and they would be bouncing me all over the place! My arms are SORE!!!!!!!!!!!

Mouth is not much change--sore, teeth go in for a couple hours, then out for a couple hours. I am trying. Will be going to the dentist again Mon, or Tues.

Everyone keep your fingers crossed that this is my week for good news from the insurance on my TT!!!

OK--caught up---this is the last of my book!!!

The End

Kat

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

that's the sound of a Grandma who just sent her grandson home. But all in all, it was a great weekend with Ethan. He was really a joy to have here. His daddy sure did miss him. His mom on the other hand told DS Joe he needed to cut the umbilical cord. sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh. I'm thrilled that Joe loves Ethan so much. Shows I raised him right.

Lunasa....so glad your doctor was a compassionate and caring man who was wise enough to know you needed to talk. Now just consider this fill the first step of getting back on track. the restriction will remind you the band is there and working. The Bobster and I went out for dinner. We split a ribeye steak dinner. I had a couple bites of the steak and had to go to the bathroom to PB it all. I ended up not eating the steak, but having 1/2 a baked potato and a couple of bites of broccoli. So much for Protein. I'm going to have a piece of string cheese later and a sugar free ice cream before I head to bed.

I've only been on the elliptical once today so I need to go do some more of that plus a couple of other things like the bands and the ball. Weigh in at the docs tomorrow!!!

TracyK... great job on the smoking.. I wish I could quit eating as easily as I stopped smoking. I stopped the day I found out I was pregnant with my first child and never looked back except for a couple of months when my DFIL was dying. Other than that.. no ciggys in 32 years. Yikes.... that's longer than some of you have been alive!!!

Jenn... you look wonderful!! Look at the progress you've made. I bet you make it to goal before the bandiversary bash. Just think how much your life has changed in this past year.. heck in the past month!!!

Suzie... tell me about the pool! What size, what shape..inground, above ground?? Gimme all the details. I just know you're gonna love it and think of the exercise you're going to get!

Michelle.. glad to have you back. Now we need to get TracyinKS and Kat back to start the week off right. Oh, and of course HAYDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

I'm off to do some time on the elliptical. (sounds like a prison sentence, doesn't it?? But I enjoy it!)

TTFN...

Ok random question, I 'plan' to start 'trying' to have kids next year. I know that's something you're not suppose to say cause it jinxes you? Hah hah oh well..

I've just been noticing all kinds of baby stuff lately, and something came to mind.. so figured I'd ask you V's enough of you have kids (and grand kids!).

Did you ever worry that DH wouldn't be daddy like? I saw it first hand when drug addict brother had a kid, for about 6 months he was so fatherly.. then baby & mom moved to NJ.. and when she visited us for the first time in 6 years last summer, my brother was a LOUSY dad, he didn't want anything to do with her, he didn't talk to her like a kid, it was really akward. In general DH doesn't like kids, always complains about them in public (but to be fair, I do too). Whenever he's been in a situation with other people's kids, he's WONDERFUL with them, it's like night and day. But I have never seen him around babies, and I worry he won't bond with a baby. I don't know why. I guess because he's said on many occasions he doesn't want to be there when it's born cause it's nasty & disgusting... How can he even think that?! Does something snap in them? Anyone else's DH throw a fit about havin to be there for the birth of their kid?

I'm goin to bed early, so I'll see ya'll tomorrow morning! I have the blood work tomorrow morning and can't eat after 9pm.. instead of worrying about it I'm just going to sleep!

And one more thing, COVER YOUR EYES MICHELLE!!!!!

It may be TMI, but if I can't tell you guys, who can I tell hah! Me & DH never use condoms, but for this whacky drug we gotta start (or I get an IUD.. eek.. mom says she doesn't know why I don't, but that's one of those things I've always thought looked extremely scary).

So, instead of gettin boring condoms, I looked up the fancy schmancy 'fun' ones on the internet and found the best reviews.. bought boxes of all kindsa goofy looking ones lol.

Bull Hockey Jennifer! You looked heavy---but not horrible! You might have been dealing with some more serious depression, but you did not then--nor do you now---hate yourself. You have to love yourself to let others love you too----and you and your kids deserve that!

You look thinner by far, and happier by far----but look, even when you were heavier, you were smiling, and you were not standing there alone-----others love us, even when we are not feeling particularly loving to ourselves.

And now you got us!!!

And we love ya!!

Jennifer you look GREAT! It really is amazing the before and after pics that everyone has shared! Special thanks to Tracyks, Judy, and Laura and anyone else I am missing who made it possible for the computer expertise lacking people (me) to post before and after!

Welcome back Lunasa!

Had an interesting time today went and saw The Wedding Singer at the theatre and we were going up in the elevator, my mom is in a wheelchair, and this guys comes on with a dolly loaded with boxes of programs and drops them on her leg. Broke the skin and she will probably be bruised, could have been much much much worse. She was lucky, off course since I am sooo short and in the back of the elevator I didn't see any of it, just heard it and the other peoples shrieks. Got into the show a little late, which I hate, plus we sat on the floor in the middle where our normal seats (season tickets) are first row balcony. I forgot how big peoples hair is! But all in all it was fine and my mom is fine.

Hope you all have a GREAT start to the work week!

Jane

Laura - I have kids and I complain about kids in public, some people just let them do what ever they want and that is crazy. Wish i could give you more on that....

Kat - so sweet, I was horribly depressed and signs of it came out last night that turned to me convincing myself how horrible I am. Anyway, long story short, it is all good today and dbf actually wanted to kick someone's ass for me today... wow, i think he might be getting a tad jealous . .

Oh, I just opened my mail from the last few days.... Thank you Kat!

night all

Oh Jane, I think that man owes your Mom more than an apology!!!!

How scary for her!!! I am not saying he owes her thousands of $$$ (course that couldn't hurt!!!) But say tickets to another show that she could get into on time!

Did I miss your before and after shots? Are they here or in B&A?

Laura, it is hard to say how DH would react. Maybe it is a good thing to discuss with an outside person. You mentioned you were once thinking of a councelor due to eating issues, well this is just as important! There are lots of considerations. You have said how differently his family is, and he will expect to take the kids to their place for holidays too! Now is the time to figure it all out.

As for him not wanting to be in the room when his child is born---I have heard of men being that way---my son with the first decided he would stay at the head of the bed, and be fine, and within minutes of everything he was right there---he had a hard time cutting the umbilical cord, he was crying so hard! But he wanted to have kids, and was heartbroke over the way things were, his wife had left and was living with her ex, when his DD was born, and he knew he loved her already, and was not going to be there to help raise her. He actually went in for his sons birth---to a c section!

It is good to work it out now....I am glad you sense the problems, and ask the questions now, it is a very mature attitude, as opposed to just assuming it will all fall into place!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

Good Luck this procedure is well worth it I am down to 249.6 lb please continue with the process..

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

      3. Doughgurl

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

    • LeighaTR

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
