I want to thank each and every one of you for the gifts, cards and well wishes from the wedding... I am still so humble about it all.. touched that my violet sisters have crossed into real life friends. I can not wait til MAY!

We are heading to NFM tonight to buy a new stove because the old one shorted out and semi caught fire last night! YIKES luckily Charles was the one cooking and knew to kill the breaker and close it up..........

So we are using wedding money to get a new one... and we might look at fridges while we are at it.......... (the fridge in our home now was bought new in 1992) she's made it through all lifes drama with me, but now is on her last leg and looks pitiful

The boss wondered why one of his most valued employees had not phoned in sick one day. Having an urgent problem with one of the main computers, he dialed the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whisper. " Hello ? "

"Is your daddy home?" he asked.

" Yes ," whispered the small voice.

May I talk with him?"

The child whispered, " No ."

Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your Mommy there?" "Yes"

"May I talk with her?" Again the small voice whispered, " No

Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss asked, "Is anybody else there?"

" Yes ," whispered the child, " a policeman ".

Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked, "May I speak with the policeman?"

" No, he's busy ,whispered the child.

"Busy doing what?"

" Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the fireman ," came the whispered answer.

Growing more worried as he heard a loud noise in the background through the earpiece on the phone, the boss asked, "What is that noise?"

" A helicopter " answered the whispering voice.

"What is going on there?" demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive.

Again, whispering, the child answered, " The search team just landed a helicopter ."

Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss asked, "What are they searching for?"

Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle... " ME ."

(sorry formatting is bad, I didn't want to fix it.. still funny!!)

Well it took me about a year but I finally had a NSV or NFV or however it is spelled. I work in a hair salon so I see a lot of people every day. Most know what I had done, and they comment lightly on the subject. Well today Sue who works next to me had a client in who wanted to know who the new girl was! When she told her it was me she couldn't believe it!! Sue works mainly later at night so I don't always see her clients, so obviously I hadn't seen her in a while. It was nice and told her how special that made me feel. I know it sounds really silly, but people have been complimenting me on how much weight I have lost in the past few months, and I really haven't. So I wonder how sincere people are, and then that aggravates me. It is such a head game we play with ourselves, isn't it!!

At work today we talked about the lady stuck on the toilet and we were all just howling!!! I know it is very very sad and I shouldn't be laughing, but the scenarios we came up with!?!?

Oh well I think TOM is coming for a surprise visit!

You aren't joking we play head games with ourselves!! I thought to myself as I read your post....well of course they will notice Jane---you have lost over 100 pounds! I was going to look at the exact amount, and comment. When it hit me, we have lost the same amount of weight, and I am still unsure and kind of surprised when people DO notice, and kind of disappointed, and unsure, when they don't.....unsure of myself being the one continuum there......lol!

Well we took the grandkids to see Horton Hears a Who. Rick was not thrilled, but you would never know it! He sat there, and within a few minutes, Kinsey was snuggled up in his lap, and they shared popcorn, and Gummy worms, and he helped her understand what was going on....the whole idea of it being 2 worlds was a bit confusing for her---so he explained the WHO's lived on the speck. Now she wants a speck, and she assured us she would not let her dogs eat it! Needless to say, he is glad he went! It was that, or he was feeling guilted into going and helping his Dad some more, and he didn't want to do that, it is windy bad here today, gusting 35-45 mph.....yuck! Kinsey and I both sported wind proof hairstyles today....hello ponytails!

Not sure what the plan is for the evening....think our son may come over and we were going to grill, but the weather is uncooperative. DIL and grandson went to Arizona to see her folks. So he is alone, maybe we will figure something to cook indoors!!

Rick probably ate enough popcorn not to want much! I used my newest diet aid....formerly known as the torture device!!! It is extremely painful to eat with it. So.....I wore it in....did not take a purse of course....so I was stuck with it, and therefore unable to eat popcorn. If I had been given this thing years ago, I might not have gotten fat!!! Yeah right!!!!!!

Gonna go look through my email, see what's goin' on------what is on the agenda for everyone this weekend???

We are leaving about 7 in the morning for Albq. Should be fun!

TTYL~~

It's funny how you said you haven't really lost that much. Uh.. 100lbs!! Go look at how much 100lbs is of beef.

That's a LOT.

That being said, I'm like Kat. I'm at 99lbs and it doesn't look like 'that much'. I still have a HUGE gut that hangs over my sides (spills grossly out) when I'm sitting. I hate it. My legs look like a normal girls legs, and then I have this gut that is horrible. Oh well, I am only uncomfortable when I'm next to skinny people lol.

Laura - Do you forget how much pain you were in?

100 pounds. Jeez-o-man. 100 pounds is a LOT of weight!!! I can barely lift 40# on a good day.

100 pounds is really beyond what I can even wrap my head around.

100 pounds is freakin' incredible.

Please girls, don't EVER EVER EVER minimize that accomplishment....because it is probably the hardest thing you will ever do or have ever done in your life.

Hey peeps~

What a great day! After school, my brother and nephew came over! I haven't seen my little man in a long time! He is the best kid ever (except for all of yours:wink:). Anyway, I love him to pieces and had a nice 45 min w/ him. He is amazing on the puter. Ethan, Kinsey, Maci, Robbie and anyother Violet child I am forgetting should go to Kids Games | Parenting | Nick Jr My nephew, Johnny is 3.5 years and he is a wiz on the puter! Anyway, it made my day. I think next week, perhaps on Easter, Susanne and I are taking him to the Living Desert here in town. Then, he is gonna spend the night, and his Pam Pam (me) is gonna take him shopping for some clothes and Easter surprises. I'd buy him the moon if I could reach it!

Then Sus and I went to dinner and drinks w/ a new "couple" of friends. They own the store called Your Family Name and we met them when we ordered my parent wedding anniversary gift. Anywho, we had a great time! Then we walked a block and went to a salon opening! What a blast! We are now home, in our recliners, and she is sawing some logs next to me as I type this.

Tomorrow, we have the guy coming to add a light in the garage and make some corrections to the first job! We have the exterminator coming @ 9am...laundry...errands...and if it the last thing I do, I want to go to the movies so bad. Feel like snugglin' and sharing a popcorn.

Have a great night, and have a fanfreakintastic weekend!

Peaceout

We are home, just went and grabbed some Chinese here in town---it is quick, cheap, yummy & easy!!!

I eat a spoonful of rice, and a spoon of whatever entree we decide on, and I am done---it takes VERY little chinese to fill me up fast, but I have to eat it VERY slow!!!

I eat maybe 1/8th of what Rick does, and we usually have either some crab rangoon or he has soup----and he still beats me by a good 10-15 minutes!!!! I will lose it if I do not eat it super slow, and chew like crazy!!!

I will be back to click the link for Kinsey on Monday Pamela! She has mastered the mouse movement in and of itself----she does a coloring program, and she has some games, most of which are beyond her at this point, but she has a couple she loves! One she is making cakes, she has to make it like the picture, it can be round, square or heart shaped, chocolate, vanilla or strawberry, and can have any of the same variety of frosting. So this customer comes in, and orders a cake----and it shows a picture, and she has to manuever her mouse around to get the right cake baked....shape and colors. She is not going to win any speed records with it yet, but she has it figured out!!!

And she has one that just makes a pattern, and she has to complete it...green dot, red square, green dot....and she has to find what goes next. She just gets really bored with that quickly! She likes the cake game the most so far. I hope there is a lot she can do on that site, I love watching her succeed, it is such pure joy!

Well...think I will go play a couple of games and go to bed.

Will check in when we get back tomorrow night if it isn't too late, if so, will see you Sunday morning! Hope it is a fun trip. It kind of ended up differently than I planned, but Becky and Gary are going with us. I love them, was secretly looking forward to alone time with Rick----but how do you say NO when they say they wanna go too!!! They are needing to get away, they have been fighting like crazy----so it will be ok.

Talk to you when we get back!

Hugs!

Kat

Morning girls.

Kat - i was cracking up about the dream. I'm glad everyone sounds so good. I had my toy party last night and then came home and passed out. I got a couple nights of good sleep which I needed.

So - here is a funny with dd. she did a cheer class the other day and has not worked out in months. she is 13 5'8" and weighs 145. she is solid as a rock. Well after being with me for the last year she has officllly become mental too. Mom told her she was needing extra help because she had so much mass... omg she was so tired she started to cry and say "you are telling me i'm fat!" I was cracking up. She is far from it. She is 5"8" for crying out loud - wears a size 6 on a bad day...

anyway, i'm going to get ready, going to Breakfast with the family and hen going to the parade, the 1 day you can drink on the streets, the biggest outdoor party ever, the entire city of albany! Probably won't be back until late tomorrow.

love ya all

Good morning, drinking my coffee and getting ready to hit the shower. I hope everyone has a nice day. There is a lot going on today, there is a big St. Patricks Day parade and a big Easter Egg Hunt. I am busy at work today, which is good. I just hope everyone remembers to show up!!

I had something funny happen yesterday, I have this older customer who is very soft spoken, prim and proper, but very nice! Anyways Rusk has this new hairspray that is called "Being Sexy", I joked with her about the name and asked her if she wanted me to call her husband and tell him you were coming, and she said 'yes call him and tell him to take his Viagra', I nearly fell over!!! Of all my customers she was the last one I would have said would say something like that!! Still makes me chuckle telling this.

Well have a great green day!

Jane

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
