Love the pics girls--all you needed was a poster of "The Screamer" behind you when the series began Pam!!

Went to town, met up with Rick for lunch. I was going to stick to liquids today, because my stomach hurt bad last night. Wierd, it was like every time I breathed in, I could feel the band or something pulling tight. I was up til after 1 hurting....then back up at 5:30 to start the day. I drank cool tea all morning, and it felt much better, so when I met him for lunch, I agreed to Taco Bell, and ate some refried Beans.

We are having Soup for supper...mine will be with no bread and only a little cheese, Rick loves me to make French Onion Soup, and it is easy, so I figure I can ease that in, and just plan to take it very light and easy on my belly. Don't have any idea what happened---I just do not want to hurt again tonight! I get to sleep in tomorrow tho----yeeeehaw!

Anyway, I am taking dinner across the street to my neighbors, she is pregnant, due the end of May, and has been put onto bed rest due to some contractions. When we were talking and I mentioned making the soup she said it was her favorite, so I figured what the heck, her husband is working and won't be home til late to try to figure dinner. Sure do hope everything goes ok for them. This will be their first, they got married last summer, after living together for 7 years---because they decided to start a family. She teaches 4th grade.

Well I better go make sure my soup is not thickened up too much....will talk to y'all later!

Hugs~~

Kat

Michelle FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!! I am like about a or two from the 230's and it is killing me!!!! I want to get there!!!!!!!!!!!

I like your hair Laura!!!

Feeling better Tracy? Did the blizzard have those recooperative powers!!! I had my first blizzard a couple of weeks ago because I saw Kit Kats advertised. Wasn't that great!!! It was good though, luckily not something I will crave.

Okay have to go to a birthday party tonight, which will probably be pure hell.

Then tomorrow I work all day and then babysit for my niece tomorrow night. So if I don't get a chance to post for awhile have fun.

Enjoy Garth Pam!!

Ok here's my month's pics. I'm not unhappy. And now I can see how much I like the hair! I think I'll get it professionally done before my NY trip, I was just seein if I liked it, but I couldn't put streaks in the back myself, couldn't find the holes in the hat thing.

AND I am happy to say-- I don't know what to thank, but my hair is FINALLY getting thicker again. The 'bald spot' I use to have is now just a little thin, but not bald at all. And overall, when I pull my hair back it's getting thicker. YAY.

I sent to my mom, who a while back said "You let russ take naked pics of you?!" and I said NO I use a timer, I wouldn't let him take pics of me like that, I feel all ooky like he'd be examinin me. So anyway tonight she said "Can Russell not tuck the tag of your undies in?" lol. I guess it always flops out, I never noticed till she said something. But I re-itterated he does NOT take the pics, I do!

I am sooooo worn out.

This morning started getting my Water in again and than Hubby and I left for the Y. I walked on the treadmill and we came home so I could get ready to go to work. No sooner had we walked in the door and the phone rang. It was Curves calling. I asnwered it and Missy wanted to know if I could cover Amy's shift this afternoon. So I headed in and worked till 1pm. Also worked out while I was there. I left and went and picked up my Sis to take her to the grocery store where we ran into my other Sis. Sis #2 to Sis #1 home for me and I came and brought groceries to my house. Hubby put them away while I ate a very small salad and was back out the door to go open the store at 2:30. Worked till 6pm and came home and got Hubby and we went to "Shooters" for a going away party for a friend that is leaving for Kosovo. Hubby and I shared a dinner and even brought home almost half of it. Got home about 8pm. I'm exhausted and my ankles are killing me. Tomorrow is going to be a Jammie day. Going nowhere.

Loved the pictures that you guys posted. Too cute.

Laura- you look awesome.

I ran into a Lady from my old work today at the grocery store. I hadn't seen her in awhile and she said to my "You look amazing". I felt so good about that.

I've been so good the last couple of days. Trying real hard to get back on track and to stay there. But you guys need to stop talking about going to DQ. I'm so tempted to run there and get me a Butterfinger blizzard. Self-control is going to kick in though. I'm trying really hard to be good.

Have a great evening.

Hi Violets..

I'm here at the Ramada. Free internet.. wooo hooo. DSIL and I just finished working out. I did 20 minutes on the bike and 10 on the treadmill. Now back to the room, shower and get some sleep before we have to be out of here at 8 to go see grandson's hockey game. We had chinese tonight. I ate half an egg roll and a cup of some veggie meat thingy. Bobster and I split it and 3/4 of it was still there to send home with DS. The Bobster is really doing much better on his eating. He's got a new resolve to lose and I'm so glad to see it. He was stuck in a rut like all of us and not losing.

Everyone have a good evening... sleep well and make wise choices tomorrow!!

Laura... you've made an amazing transfomation!!

Michelle...you go girl!! I'm so proud of you!!

Laura, you were beautiful before you lost weight, now you're even more so...You look amazing! I love your hair too...I know what you mean about the hair finally growing back. I've noticed (knock on wood), that my hair isn't falling out as much as it used to....let's hope that it stays that way! Anyway, good job on your weight loss...you're doing great!

Other than the fact that I had to get up 3 times to go to the bathroom, I slept like a baby last night. Got up and have already taken my shower. Around 9am I'm gonna go to Curves and return the key to the door. No, I am not going to work out today. I'm good for a couple of days. After that I'm gonna go over and wash my van. It's so dirty from all the snow and sludge. Need to get all the salt off of it. And be able to see out all the windows. It's suppose to get up to 46 degrees today, and in the the fifties tomorrow. May have to break out the shorts.:hurray:

Everyone have a great day and don't forget to get your Water in.

Drink, Drink, Drink.

Good morning violets-

Laura-you look great!

Just a sitting around day again. Macy had a slight temp yesterday evening but last night was the first time in a week that she actually slept all night long. No coughing. I really believe she is almost well but the dr had told me that if she was still running fever this weekend to bring her back in so they can do bloodwork. She is not running any fever now. I dunno, I will probably call the dr office and see what they say.

Everyone have a great day!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
