Shrinkin' Violets- Part 2 Read Here

Recommended Posts

Good morning ladies-

I am cramping so bad :lol:. Still have not seen tom though. My cycle has been so screwy lately. Maybe the weight gain then the losing is throwing my body out of whack.

I can not wait to hear about the concert Pamela went to. I'll bet it was so much fun!

TracyinKS-how is the unfill so far?

Terry-did you make an appt to get a fill before the holidays?

Michelle-a closet alcoholic? :w00t:

Have a fantastic day everyone :smile2:

I will be moving around as little as possible. Maybe a heating pad will help.

No closet required!

Nahhh... Only if a couple drinks a month qualifies! But @ 100 each, I figured it was better than the bag of Almond Joys in the freezer!! Hey -- they're 100-calorie packs! :smile2:

It's not a proud day for me!! I have never, ever been so depressed over an election in my adult life. You can mark my words and take note....we will ALL be worse off 4 years from now as we are today. I know it as sure as I know the sun will rise tomorrow.

I'm gonna 'check out' for awhile and let you all Celebrate ....... I just can't take it.

I feel the same way....as TracyinKS said, I was also moved to tears by Obama's acceptance speech - but not in a good way. I have never disliked a president as much as I dislike this man....I know it's silly, but I'm reading the "Left Behind" series and I see a scary resemblance to Obama and the anti-christ in this book....scary. I think the next 4 yrs will be worse than they have in a long time....I hope that I'm wrong.

Oh heck, in trying to catch up on posts I didn't realize you were all through talking about the election....DO NOT READ MY LAST POST!!! LOL

I went for a fil the other day and I was at 3.6, he filled me to 4.0. NEVER AGAIN!!! I was so tight I couldn't even hardly swallow my own saliva. 2 days later I was back in his office for an unfill (thankfully he doesn't charge for these), and he put me back to 3.6 and told me that he wants me there....lol that was horrible!!!!

TracyinKS, you'll be fine with your unfill...just put a picture of yourself heavier on your fridge and in your car!

Good morning, Violets..

It rained really hard last night so no leave burning today unless we want to smoke out the neighborhood. DD Kris will be here this morning and Ethan arrives at noon. Other than that, nothing is planned special for today. Guess I'll do some laundry and a little cleaning.

PamELA...can't wait to hear what you thought of the concert. What a lucky lady to be able to go. We never get anything like that around here. Maybe Englebert Humperdink at the Casino... big whoop.

The Bobster is on his way to church for the day so it's pretty quiet here. I didn't even get up til 9. Guess I'll go find something for Breakfast and then start laundry. I can hardly contain my excitement..

Everyone have a great day!! BBL...

laundry - ugh, hate that word. my pile is still growing, we decided to go to my mom's for dinner so no chores for me! My weekend is shot to heck though because now I'll be stuck at home!

Pammy - how was the concert? Did Britney and Justin re-unite on stage?? I heard there was gonna be a special surprise!

TracyK - did you get my emailed pic? Too cute! Hope your tummy feels better. Try drinking chamomile tea, that always helps me.

Michelle - love Mike's hard lemonade! Anything fruity is my downfall... And since those drinks are usually sweet I never realize how much I've drunk until it's waaaayyy too late. Good thing I only drink a few times a year or I'd seriously have a problem, LOL

TracyKS - did you win the shoes? So since you're buying shoes I'm assuming Robby is doing wrestling?

Laura - I meant to ask how the baby name search is going? My cousin just had his first and there were three couples that are pregnant within my extended family and they were all fighting for the same name. They were all trying to beat each other to the delivery room. Like I said though, my cousin and his wife ended up being induced and so he got the name. Emma. It's a really popular name right now but it's also my deceased grandmother's name so everyone wanted it. Seriously there were huge fights about it!

Anyhoo, I'm off to grab my coffee... Be back later girlies...

I have just a minute to stop and say HI. I worked 6-9am and am on my way back to the other store to work at 10am. Just enough time to get me a bowl of oatmeal and go potty, maybe kiss the hubby on my way out.

I will be stopping by later to chat, but hubby and I are going out of town for the night. We should be back fairly early tomorrow.

Looking forward to hearing from Kat and from Pam.

I had a dream about my V's last night! We were off on an adventure. I remember a dirty lake (with turtles & snakes--lots & visible) and I refused to get in, but I watched. Pam had this long gorgeous thick hair, that's really all that stuck out to me besides the turtles & snakes. I kept thinking.. I WANT HAIR LIKE THAT!!! LOL

Haydee- We kind of settle on names, just so we have something to call it. For a month now we've called it "Izzy-Carson". So I guess right now Isabelle & Carson are the front runners. It changes every month though, last month it was "Lily-Blake". I can't wait to find out the sex. I can't wait to feel it move!! Some people feel their baby move 3 weeks ago! I'm 16 weeks and 2 days.. and still don't feel nothin'.

My nose has been stuffy, itchy, and sneezy for a month now, it is so bad in the morning. I can't take benadryl at work, the few times I did it, I was sorry and ended up having to take naps.

Tracy maybe you are pregnant! har har har

Oh and last time I weighed myself (about 2 weeks ago) I was at 229lb.. gyno weighed me at 234lb Tuesday, with my big shoes on.. anyway, last night I weighed on my trusty scales and I was 229lb still. WHEW. That means I haven't gained in about 2 weeks.. THANK GOODNESS

Laura, if it helps you, I didn't feel Max move until I was over 20 weeks. ((at least not something that I KNEW was him...there were times I questioned...but the time I knew without a doubt it was him, I was like 22 weeks along)). Don't stress it. Baby is fine :frown: I know it sux...but trust me, when that little one does get going good.....it won't stop sometimes! LOL :cool2:

About the name thing...We wanted to name our baby Maxwell ("Max" for short) because it's different, without being weird different. That name for a boy was picked out when we first met! (Robert had loved the name and I liked it too) So for 6 years before I got pregnant we had that name picked out. Well, guess what. Now Max is becomming so popular (no thanks to Christina Agulara [sp??] and J-Lo)...it kinda defeats the purpose of us wanting that name...but we'd always referred to future kids as Lydia or Autumn and Max...so we kept it. He has a double middle name because we wanted to honor our fathers....so his name is Maxwell Allen-Lee. Lots of people don't like it, but we don't care!

Good luck, and whatever you end up choosing, it'll be perfect for your little one :w00t:

Hope you're doing well :tt2:

-Amanda-

Why would people not like it? I like Maxwell. It's a nice strong name...

Yep, I have two workers with daughters named Emma. It's ubber popular...

I never liked my name growing up. I hated it actually. No one ever said it right and no one, not even family, spells it right. But now I have embraced it. It's a unique name and I like the way it sounds when people say it...

TracyK - for whatever reason it's not meant for you to see that plaque! Boo... Actually i'm just gonna post the pic here!

WOOHOO~

Well, I am glad ya'll heard about the surprise...I had NO IDEA! The concert was great! She started at 9:50pm (WAY PAST BEDTIME) but once she came on...she rocked it! Some songs were a bit loud. Outside concerts can be hit or miss w/ sound. But she can really sing!!! The "show" was great! Brittney Spears (whom I don't really like at all...but it was great to see her and she looked faboo) came on and joined Madonna for Human Nature (she sang "express yourself...don't repress yourself" for the Madonna fans...LOVE THAT SONG) and then towards the end of the show, Justin Timberlake (MY BOYFRIEND...I HAVE POSTERS OF HIM IN MY CABINENT AT WORK...AND I LLLOOOOVVVVEEE HIM) came on to sing 4 Minutes!!! THAT WAS A HUGE HIGHLIGHT!

Then we rushed the crowds out...and got out quickly...took us only 1:40 min to get home which for those of you who do not know...is great time!

All and All...it really was a life long dream! I've been a huge Madonna fan since I was 16 (when I was a virgin walking around singing "Like a Virgin"). At one point, I was thinking..."I CAN'T WAIT TO TELL THE VIOLETS!"

Gonna go pop around, check emails, etc.

BBL

xoxoxoxo

PS...so glad I took the day off!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
