NEW! 2008 Shrinkin' Vi's Trip Planning Thread!!

Just so ya know.. I am not going to take it personal if you guys are really opposed to Tunica and think you will not have a good time.

I threw it out there for a few reasons, monetary was one of them. Nice hotel that's free, who can resist right ?

But if it's a big deal, I don't want anyone to feel obligated for us to go there, so everyone air out your thoughts!

I think we are all in. Gotta just figure out a way to get Jenn down there. As long as the goal is not gambling...I am in!

Laura, nobody is going to feel obligated to the point that they're going to plunk down money against their will! LOL This is where the majority decided they wanted to go. Now it is up to the others to either join or not. Simple. Otherwise we'll go round and round and round until we end up not going anywhere! Besides, we all said from the beginning that we didn't care where as long as we get together. That still holds true for most of us....if others decide that's maybe not so true anymore, then that is OK too! There's about 100 factors at play in this decision, not to mention 1,000 different destinations we chould have chosen....so the way I see it, it's 6 of one and half dozen of the other! Tunica is great! We'll have a wonderful time there!! The weather should be nice too.... maybe we'll even be ready for some swimsuit action! Well, Judy already is!!

I'm fine with it. Already looked at flight ticket prices. the Bobster and the guys are still going to do their trip to Gettysburg. They'll just drop me off at the airport on their way and hopefully pick me up on their way back. And I'll get to meet Jane before any of you.. nah nah nah nah nah nah!!!

I was trying to see how far Jen is, some reason I thought (I guess since I am more East) that I would be closer to her than MO, but I'm not. Huh.

And yeah, I've been to conventions where we rent a suite, and everyone has fun in there. So I am going to make sure I can get at least one, once we've decided.

I'm not saying I won't gamble while I'm there  but I'm only bringing a little money, so it won't be like that's my focus there. And I've never been to Graceland.. I don't like Elvis, but I've still wanted to check it out. So it'll be nice to be there with people that aren't only there to gamble.

LOL..you got it Terry! I went to school in Reno...besides a tiny bit of $$ here and there...don't like pissing my $$ away. I am sure we can find enough trouble to get into w/o gambling! Wanna go to Graceland? Perhaps find a bead store? I know Judy is in too! Anyone else? LOL...I've already looked online too for tix. About 5-600 bucks which is doable. I'll probably fly in Thursday at 4:45 and arrive midnight (which will only feel about 9pm), then take a cab to Tunica (or shuttle). I want to have 3 full days there. At least it is only about 5 hour flight...not too bad. Need a carry-on and hit the friendly skies!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
