Since insurance does not cover the fills has anyone in Nebraska found one doctor cheaper than the other?

I was told that they would run around $150, but that Dr. Hovey was looking into doing them in the office (right now done at Immanuel) and that would make them cheaper, about $75-$100.

Do these prices seem right, cause I was reading other posts and they were saying the fills in Chicago are $1,000. I almost threw up (great diet). I can't afford that and if that is the case I need to know now.

Also do the fills hurt. I truly hate needles, need laughing gas at the dentist. I could not be poked repeatedly for years. I would just stop going.:)

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Kristin,

I don't think my dr would be cheaper as all fills are done under flouro. But the fills don't hurt. I don't like needles either but found that they are easier then getting any other shots. The only part that bug me, and it isn't painfull, is when they remove the needle.

So when and where did you get banded? Also, where in Nebraska do you live? I'm in Gretna.

I have not yet. I am waiting and waiting and waiting on the nurse at Immanuel to get all the info to the insurance. I already know that my insurance covers it, so I am not really worried about that. I guess I am just impatient.

I am using dr. Hovey he is new to Dr. Whites group at Immanuel. I live in Blair so we thought it would just be more convinent than the Med Center.

Did you get that hernia fixed or are you waiting?

Do you know how to get that ticker tape thingy up? I made one, but for the life of me I cannot figure where to put it so it shows up, I figure it is somewhere in the signature, but I don;t know.

I have never been able to get the ticker to work, plus it's a pain to keep updated. But I am lazy. There is something here about it. I will find the link and post it here.

I did the my hernia fix in August. I had to be unfilled and I gained 8 lbs. After my second first fill, I lost it. Now if the scale would start moving again, I would be on cloud 9. Granted, I haven't be exerciseing (started up again tonight). But I have gone from a tight 22 to a tight 14, so loving that.

Kristin,

I am from Fremont and am going to Mexico May 21st to get the lapband. It is nice to think someone who lives close has done this. How is it going? It is getting close so I am getting nervous.

Kristin, I am getting my first fill on June 5, so I'll be able to tell you something in a month.

Kristin, I was banded 03/05/08 by Dr. Taddeucci at Surgical Associates in Lincoln. Fills cost $150 for fluoro and like you said, $75-100 in the office. It sounds like that's pretty common across the board from what I've heard. Good luck with everything!

I had my surgery with Dr. Hovey and my first fill was no charge. However, I was also told as long as he does it in the office that it is $75 if he does it under fluro it was around $150.

I would be very interested to know what the rates are now. I am going to be banded in 2 weeks. I am in Omaha, but from what I understand the fills are cheaper in Lincoln. Where do you go and how much is a fill?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
