Does your stomach make noises after you eat? LOL!

Recommended Posts

I've noticed my stomach likes to talk to me after I eat. Just can hear it like, digesting?? LOL! My husband has heard it standing next to me too! We just laughed! But should I expect this to be this way forever? Could be embarrassing if it were to happen when I'm with a client! 😬But luckily, I rarely eat right before I'm working with someone. Also, do raw veggies bother you at all? Sometimes baby carrots don't feel great but I love raw things because I'm on the go so much. Baked ones do better for me but have to eat them cold during the day and with a fork. I am usually in my car eating unless I do in the morning or evening. And wanted to ask about Protein Shakes. I almost cannot makes myself even drink half of one lately. So having grilled chicken most dinners and eggs sometimes. I can't mix anything into those. I drink Water only lately.

Thanks for any insight on these things! I hope you have the most glorious of Wednesdays!! 😍

I talked with my doctor about the stomach noises. He said it was normal. When I hear them, it’s my normal stop point if I haven’t finished yet anyway. Carrots took me a long time to get to. Cooked veggies were better the whole first year for me. I tend to like cooked veggies in the winter and raw vegetables in the summer and fall. Spring is a mix. Keep drinking your Water. It helps with lovely skin, but also digestion and understanding true hunger signals.

Ok! Thank you. So glad it's normal. I usually only hear it several minutes after I've eaten. Like I guess the food is settling in or something? Lol! Yes. I had trouble getting in Water at first. Doing much better now. Feel better and not as hungry also because of that so it's very true, I feel hungry when I'm just thirsty. And I think I'll start cooking my veggies. Except cucumbers have been fine and I love them. Grapefruit is good and works well for me too. I need to get yogurt again. Soft foods help. Thank you for sharing. My weight is going down again finally and determined to pay close attention ans keep good habits and continue all the way to my goal. And beyond. I want to build muscle as much as I can so doing tension bands and kettle bells. Just want to be healthier all around by the end of this year. Just will do what I can. No one is perfect. ☺️💗

Before, during, after I eat or even drink sometimes. Just whenever it likes. And yes still does though probably not as much now at almost 6yrs out. I was told it’s perfectly normal too and just my digestive system doing what it’s supposed to: digest food. I used to say I had a poltergeist in my tummy. Groaning, moaning, rattling chains, squelching & whining. My younger nieces & nephew used to think it was hilarious and they’d rest their head on my tummy to hear it better.

yep. mine still talks to (sometimes screams at) me, and im 6+ years out! often times i can FEEL the noises as well.

though lately in the past few weeks, ive started to feel the rumbling not just in my abdomen, but also in my back! weird. we theorize its because i’ve got so thin lately that the rumbling can be felt everywhere as there is less mass to “travel” through or buffer the gastro “tremors”…*shrug*

Haha how cute. Yes, sounds like it's normal then. Good to know! Thanks!

Wow, in your back? Yeah, must be because you are small now. And neat, 6 years out! I would love to have had mine that long ago! I'd be normal weight by now. I'm presently inching my way to Onederland. So excited! Oh! I think I sent you a message the other day. Did I?

Yes, and it's annoying as hell like I do not even sometimes want to eat after all the gurgling. I just wanna throw whatever I'm eating against the wall. My gurgling starts as soon as food hits the stomach. It doesn't happen at the end. It's like right when I start eating. 🙄🙄

Ugh yep my stomach is always making really loud noises about 5-10 minutes after I eat. Usually when I am around people they will look at me and I have to warn them beforehand because it catches them off guard 😂

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
