How far along r u? As long as your food is okay then you're set tbh! I've been having sneaky treats but as you not going crazy too. We must be very mindful about what we r putting in our mouths so we can adjust during the day. Hope your results are OK x

I had to adjust doses on a few medications but all ok

I am 12 weeks/3 months out. It wasn't my best weekend as far as carbs, but I also don't think it was terrible; it was my highest calorie count since surgery at 1500. The next day, I just tired to really focus on Protein and low carbs. I did go walk today and got in a little over 2 miles so that feels good to be more active again.

How's everyone doing? @ShoppGirlall ok with u?

I’m hanging in there. Still dealing with some personal stuff but I have somehow managed to stay on track with my nutrition and activity and I’m losing at a steady rate. I think my eyes are a lot bigger than my stomach in terms of what I requested for Thanksgiving. My husband likes to cook the turkey so he was making that and mashed potatoes with a veggie and I requested stuffing, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes and desert. This will be my first time going off plan so I hope It’s not too hard to get back on track. I know that carbs make me crave carbs. They always have. How has everyone else dealt with the cravings the day after going off plan??

The good news about the activity is if you stick with it that you get to increase your carbs a bit and still lose at the same rate. Plus the endorphins from doing it just make you feel good both physically and mentally. Well for most people anyways. I know that people always said that and I was like yea whatever because I just didn’t have the energy pre surgery. Now I totally get it. It really does feel good. A sense of accomplishment of course but my mood is even better.

I don't think I ever had a strict plan for myself other than limiting carbs, sugar and fried foods. I'm excited about Thanksgiving; I'm just planning to get a small plate and try a little of everything. We have 2 meals on Thanksgiving because we see both mine and my husband's family.

I threw up for the first time since surgery last night. I think I just ate too fast and maybe didn't chew enough; it felt like it was stuck in my chest. So it was a good reminder to slow down and that I'm not completely the same as before surgery.

Sorry you threw up but better last night than Thursday I guess. Now you will know to slow down so you don’t feel like that while you are visiting with family and friends.

Omg this foods cooking smells so good. I’ve been lucky since surgery that it’s just my hubby and I and he is not a big eater and usually makes whatever he wants on the grill. I had a Protein Shake for Breakfast but my mouth is watering. Idk if I’m gonna be able to control myself today. I mean portion wise I will but I’ve gotta taste a little bit of it all.

Ahhh show me , show meee! Haha yess maybe alittle plate n enjoy a bit?

Tbh I eat almost everything especially on the weekend but as u said portion wise it's very acceptable but I've noticed if I eat out, I almost immediately flush it out. Today I had dinner at the restaurant and had grilled chicken and mashed potato and it had alot of gravey so I can almost confirm it's no longer in my body lol.

Also I've officially lost 20 kgs! Yay huge milestone. A few grams and I'll ve put out of the 90s

Can't imagine being 89kg! Who am I!!

I feel like I did well at my meals today ( we had 2 Thanksgiving dinners today), but I got so snacky tonight, which probably wasn’t great. We don’t have any leftovers though so tomorrow, I’m back on track.

Yea. For me whenever I have alot of carbs, I crave them for a few days so just be mindful of that and if that’s the case for you the only real way to get through it is to white knuckle it. One trick I did learn is to use my free foods from my preop diet such as pickles and sugar free popsicles to eat when I’m craving other things. May be one day of a few more calories still but it’s not nearly as bad as another day of high carb. Especially because that would only be followed by another day of the same. This is my first time having a lot of carbs with my revisions so hopefully this still works for me too

How is everyone else doing with the cravings post thanksgiving splurge (if you did a little too)? I am having a hard time with all the yumminess still in the fridge. I broke down and had a slice of cake last night and of course feel guilty today. It hasn’t affected my weight because I have also exercised a bit more I guess but I still feel like it’s junk my body doesn’t need

This weekend has been pretty hard getting back on track and not wanting to eat everything. I have had a couple days that I had 1500 calories, which feels like a lot but I also think I only ate when I was hungry; I have been snacking on nuts recently to stay away from carbs, but they do have a lot of calories and fat.

Last night, we had an early birthday dinner for my husband's birthday and he always wants to do a nice steak dinner. I actually tried Wagyu for the first time because you could get it by the ounce and I figured that would be perfect since I can only eat a little bit anyway. It was delicious!!! It was also my first time having a cocktail while eating dinner.

I think nuts are a pretty good choice in moderation. The Protein fills you up and the fat is healthy fat at least. I had to google wagyu because I had never heard of it. I will have to give that a try sometime. How did the cocktail go? I haven’t tried yet either. Post sleeve I was the opposite of most people and I couldn’t get a buzz even after like 3 or 4 drinks. I decided it was a waste of calories for me and haven’t drank since. Idk if that’s still the case post revision. I guess I may try eventually. Then again I haven’t missed it for a couple years so maybe I should just stay away from it.

Wagyu is expensive steak; so I had my 1 oz and I was good for meat pretty much. The cocktail went okay. I definitely think alcohol hits me more, but I don't know if that's the sleeve or that I haven't drank in 5 months. I didn't drink the whole cocktail, but it was nice to go for dinner and drinks, because I feel like that was something I was missing out on, not being able to drink while I'm eating.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
