Keep your mind focused on what you want to achieve that this surgery will help you to accomplish. Avoid internet horror stories. If you want info from medical professionals to calm your nerves, try the YouTube videos from Dr. John Pilcher. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable but his voice is so calm it can put you in a trance.

Tomorrow is my surgery day! I am soooo nervous! I only lost 6lbs on the prep diet. I know it was only 2 weeks but man I have been starving!! Send me good vibes tomorrow! I can wait to be one step further on my journey!

Hello, my gastric sleeve is scheduled for March 19th. I have my pre-surgery ekg, xray, and about a million vials of blood from all the tests I saw ordered in MyChart tomorrow.

This is my third attempt in 8 years to get this surgery, and my husband's job change finally got an insurance that will do it, and now it's suddenly very real. It's a weird roller coaster in my head.

March 28th for me :) UK based, having a gastric sleeve. 5 years of waiting, therapy, consultations, a global pandemic & a few other issues in the middle, I can't wait for my new life.

Had my speeve done yesterday 3/5. Procedure was quick and uneventful. Woke up in recovery with no belly pain but an awful burning sensation in my chest. Nurse said this was likely trapped gas causing the pain. It has not subsided. I have been able to sleep, take liquid meds and walk a bit. I feel good about the surgery and curious how the next few days will go. I would say discomfort level is about 6/10. Not so much painful, just difficult to get comfortable. Will keep y’all posted.

Lap Band removal March 26 then wait a few months for Sleeve.

I have had 3 surgery's and each time the gas pain is the worst part. I have to roll on my side and walk to get the gas out. Left shoulder pain as well.

My surgery is scheduled for March 21st. Having the sleeve done. Started the pre-op liquid diet today. Only to have 4-5 Protein Shakes with skim milk a day, crystal light,Gatorade zero,Powerade zero, herbal teas or Decaf, clear broths and sugar free Jello and popsicles. It's definitely a challenge. But in the end it's gonna be worth it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
