I'm heading to my annual physical today and my 3-month appointment tomorrow. Looking forward to what the doctor has to say about progress and any changes I should make. I weighed in at 200.6 lbs today. Will I ever get below 200?!?!? I swear this is the hardest milestone. I hit 201 lbs 13 days ago and was so certain I would be under 200 by now.

It will probably drop and get you well under soon!! I'm with you where that 200 mark is concerned. Years ago, I got to 202 and was so excited to get under 200 but never did, and it started to creep back up. As usual, I gained it all back plus more and reached my highest ever weight. I was at the point where I was afraid to diet cuz I always gained it all back and more. That is what made me decide to do the surgery. We can do it!!!!!

Good luck with the doc appts!

So I've been stalled for a week. I know it's normal but it's none the less soul crushing.

This is not as easy as people think :( the weight really does not just fall off. I have been having to work for every tiny scale victory lately and if I don’t eat and drink right it creeps up the wrong direction just a bit. I‘’m sorry you’re at a stall too. I know how frustrating it can be. All I can say is that you have made so much progress in the last few months and you look amazing!! You are out there climbing cliffs!! No way would you have been doing that last year. This time next year all this stalls will be a memory and we will all have made it through it. Just keep doing what you’re doing and the scale will move again soon. ❤️

@BlueParis Still stalled :(

I had my 3-month appointment yesterday. It seems I'm on track based on the numbers my doctor wants to see, which is losing at least 10% of your day-of-surgery weight at the 3-month mark. For me, that would be 22.3 lbs, and I've lost 22.4 lbs. So, I just have to trust the process, I guess.

I have to go in Friday morning to have blood drawn for Iron and B-12 check, and I need to redo my TSH (thyroid) from my physical earlier this week because Biotin messes up the results! So I have to stop my Multivitamin and my biotin supplement for 72 hours before retesting.

And @Noelle74it's so true that the weight does not just "fall off." Maybe the first few weeks, but after that? It's a struggle. Lots of ups and downs. Lots of frustration. I think a lot of trial and error, too, until you find what works for you.

My plan is to just keep tracking Protein and Water, as directed by my dietician, for the next month. I have a vacation at the end of June. If I get back from that and don't like my progress, I will try limiting carbs to under 50g per day until my 6-month check-up at the end of August. If I'm worried at that point, I will talk to doctor about adding GLP-1. But hopefully there will be no cause for concern.

My next thing is to learn how to use my resistance bands! That's my goal for the coming week.

Ahhh @NickelChip Sorry to hear you are still stalled! This too will pass. I hope your blood tests show good results. And I also have resistance bands collecting dust so let me know how you get along with them!

Thanks @Noelle74 you are so right, the weight dosent just drop off. And you're right, progress not perfection is the way to go. Would you consider adding a ticker to your profile? It's a really easy way for me to understand how people are getting along!

I walked part of the way of Saint James last summer through the northern route (camino del norte) with my parnter and a group of friends and although I tried to keep a smile on my face it was truly three miserable weeks for me, I was in pain, sweating, out of breath and honetsly wanted to cry each time I saw another hill... but last weekend although it wasn't as steep I walked 26km all on my own and had a lovely day! So yes, progress!!

My doctor got back my 3 month post op blood test yesterday and said I had high B-12. So I only need to take one B-50 complex per day. Zinc is low, so I have to take over the counter 3 times a week. Two other tests showed some kind of malnutrition, which is common they said. Seems weird since I have no issues eating enough. Im.sure that's something that will be taken care of down the road.

I think the bariatric center i use has a youtube channel that shows how to use the resistance bands. Look up Baileys bariatrics on YouTube. But I'm certain there's plenty of videos showing how to use and what exercises are best.

I wish I had the motivation to get out walking more. I’m 45 miles from the gym and if I walk the roads I live on I’ll be dodging semi trucks soon during harvest. The treadmill has just not called to me. When I lived in Hawaii I would go out walking with my friends every morning and I was much thinner. I just don’t have people to walk with or work out with here and it shows. That makes it so much easier in my opinion. Right now my partner is an overweight English bulldog and she’s not much more motivated than I am. I keep telling myself if I just do it every day then it will become habit again. Today is the day right?

Round the block with a podcast ? You need to find an addictive podcast or audiobook and just walk for an episode. sometimes I walk round and round and round my small paris courtyard when I can't be bothered to hot the streets when I'm in Paris. I think neighbors must think I'm craycray but IDGAF...

Do you have Netflix apparently you can find some exercise routines on there although I haven’t yet looked haha. Also even just YouTube you can find free workout videos. Put some music on and dance like no one is watching and all from the safety of your own living room.

I’ve got an app called active arcade on my iPad which is free you kind of set up the iPad like a tv and then bounce around in front of it trying to hit things. I haven’t used it much but it’s there lol

also those mini tramps are good fun although I recently gifted the one I brought to my mum

You don't need to go to a gym or walk for miles. Just moving around more often helps. Simple stuff like getting on a single step and doing step ups for a few minutes helps. Youtube is a great place to look for simple things you can do for movement. Getting a resistant band and doing a few exercises helps. I always thought resistant bands were a Joke, until I started using them. They are no joke and you can do a lot with them. Here's some reels from the Bariatric center I go to. In particular the woman in this clip is my exercise specialist. Her name is Mo and she is out of her mind full of energy. They have a lot of stuff on their youtube ranging from exercise to diet and everything else in bariatrics.

I don't live near a gym either and really don't want to go to one. I've been trying to do some YouTube videos, and I got a walking pad. Have you guys heard of "cardio drumming?" We did it at my bariatric support group and I started doing it at home too. I don't think I've ever walked away from any kind of exercise saying "that was fun" before this! I bought some wrist weights to use while doing it. I'll put a few links here... (Where they use 2 balls, I just hit the side of my one)

Weighed in this morning at 199.8 lbs! Finally under 200!

I'm going to NYC this weekend, so lots of walking will be a guarantee, but I'll have to be mindful of hydration and not give in to the temptation of grazing all day on little snack foods. I've already chosen my dinner from the menu of the place we're going Saturday, a lentil Soup. Afternoon tea on Sunday will be a nice treat.

There is a lot. Just choose the ones you like and go with that. I really dont think there a wrong way.

Congratulations!

Snacking is the thing I have to watch. But it's usually Greek yogurt with Protein or the edamame dried Beans. A little crunchy. But are a good snack. I'll gnaw on some turkey Jerky. It takes a lot of chewing to get it down to where it's safe to swallow.

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
