Let's try this again. I was booked for my RNY for Aug 28 and after waiting in the hospital in my gown & booties for 5 hours, it was cancelled due to an emergency trauma case. Tomorrow is my new day, arrival at 6:00am, surgery at 8:00am.

Let's gooo!

Yesterday was the first day of my liquid diet and boy oh boy... I knew it was going to be intense, but I hadn't realized how fierce the hunger pains would be. Good luck to those who have had their surgeries, I can't wait to join you guys on the losers bench! :) And to those on the liquid diet with me currently, we've got this! :D

I had some last minute feelings too but then I was resolved to do it. Recovery hasn’t been too bad as long as I remember to take it easy. One step at a time, right?!

I had the sleeve on the 5th and I too began to second guess my decision up until the night before surgery. I did have an extended hospital stay due to nausea and my heart rate being too low for a couple of days post op. Other than that recovery is going well. You just have to remember to take it easy and listen to your body. I had my first follow up visit yesterday and my surgeon said I am healing well. The hardest part has been making sure to drink as much as possible. Good luck with upcoming surgery 🙂

I’m scheduled for 9/25. RNY and hiatal hernia.

I have my RNY on September 27th. I started my liquid diet and it is really hard. I have gerd and reflux so I’m so much gas pain.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
