I'm not familiar with the liquid IV stuff. What is that?

It's an electrolyte drink powder. It's supposed to hydrate better because of the salts and electrolytes in it. Definitely an acquired taste, been trying to get used to it since they told me it was on my doctor's must-have list. If you're salt sensitive like I am it's like drinking seawater with some of the flavors but I'm super picky too so that probably doesn't help either.

I'm scheduled for bypass on Sept 7th....I start my 7 day pre-op diet Thursday. I was a little anxious about doing the liquid diet but my surgeon has a different plan. i will be having a Protein Shake for Breakfast, one serving of fruit and a light Greek yogurt for mid morning snack, Protein shake for lunch, a string cheese or hard boiled egg for mid afternoon snack, dinner is a lean cuisine or healthy choice frozen entree with a good source of protein (approx 300 cal) or 3oz of lean meat/fish and a serving of non starchy veg and an evening snack of a string cheese or hard boiled egg, and drink a minimum of 64oz of Water. No liquid diet at all!

I'm now in the September group. I was booked for my RNY yesterday and after sitting in my super sexy drafty gown & see through blue booties for 5 hours (I was the last case of the day and they were running behind from the start), an emergency case came into the hospital and 'stole' my nursing team and my surgery was cancelled. Definite lunchbag letdown.

I'm now booked for the first slot of the day on Sept 14. Thankfully I've been given an alternate real food diet and don't have to work through another two weeks of Optifast, so I'm taking that as a win.

Started my Pre Op Diet today! My Bypass is 9/12/23! I’m excited! My diet is a struggle today. But hoping I figure it out soon. I have researched and researched on my surgery so I can have knowledge on what is going to happen. I’m only 24 and my parents are a bit scared. But I’m just ready for a new life!

Hey all - my cousin had surgery Nov 1 last year - starting weight 240 now at 105 - where she lives you can’t get skin surgery for 2 years - she found these amazing products at https://www.maelyscosmetics.com and has been using 5 of them - she doesn’t need skin surgery now and she swears by these products. I ordered some last night &thought I’d share.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
