Dizziness, Tiredness, back of neck pain.

Recommended Posts

Ok guys. I have been doing pretty good. I am into daynumer13. I have until July 3, but I am noticing my breathing is changing I am just aware of. I have dizziness and feeling as if I am going to faint. The back of my neck is hurting which is also draining me. My breathing when paying attention is shallow, deep and I am holding my breath.- i can not see what I am writing so I hope this post makes sense. Have anyone experience this.

First, if anything seems unusual or different for you contact your surgeon/team or go to your closest medical centre. Because it’s your breathing that’s affected I’d probably head to the medical centre to rule out a clot or any other issue.

Lightheadedness & dizziness is pretty common after surgery. It could be low blood pressure, hypoglycaemia or simply because you’re eating so little. Plus you’re recovering from a pretty major surgery which has been a considerable shock to your body. Try adding an electrolyte drink to your daily Fluid intake. I used to find the extra boost of energy very helpful.

Yes as Arabesque says Contact your team or go to the ER. Something is wrong. It could be as simple as a panic attack or a chest infection but these things always need sorting out

Basic first aide says anything involving breathing is a life saving matter to pay attention to, and seek medical attention ASAP. Try to go to your primary care doctor or medical WLS doctor and they can help you get more prompt care in hospital if that’s what you need. Best wishes!

Still seek medical help for the breathing.

The pre surgery diet could be contributing to the light headedness & dizziness. You may be experiencing some withdrawal from salt, sugar, caffeine, etc. too.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
