Good Morning everyone, i truly enjoyed reading everyone comments. When i tell you guys this has been super hard for me. My first year all i did was stay going into the hospital from issues with my surgery. like now i was rush to the hospital from my PCP. The issues was that my throat felt like something was blocking it and it was cutting off my airways. Once i arrive to the hospital and they check me out. According to the doctor it's GERD I HAVE. its been kicking my butt for years. like now cook food is a no go for me. cant swallow meat so i do not eat it. Let's not forget about Constipation x10. Plus now i have arthritis in both knees and neck until its hard for me to walk. Fluid building up because of my 20lb weight gain from the steroid shots... just started walking again... i need some relief from all this. The insurance i have do not cover no type of weight loss surgery. when i got my sleeve done my late husband insurance paid 100%, but this market place cigna EPO connect do not cover at all. unless the doctor will have to submit a medical note. i do not know what to do helpp...

I’m so sorry this has been happening to you. It’s so hard to stay positive and focus on navigating through the hospital world and then insurance is even tougher! You can get through this!

When my favorite aunt started having strokes, but she was a doctor and didn’t want help from family, we asked for a hospital social worker. The hospital didn’t want to do it, but by law they are required to provide one if requested. The worker helps folks figure out the medical issues, the insurance, and navigates all that stuff with you and ALL the different doctors involved so they act as one team for your benefit. The worker is like a conductor of an orchestra and you are whispering in her ear, so that the orchestra plays for you.

Getting all these people to play together nicely takes some time so it’s not instant.

Start with the last time you were in the hospital. Look at your paperwork and call the money payment number because hospitals are quick to respond to money issues. Then ask for a social worker to help you navigate. When you get one, tell her what you wrote here. Or, the next time you go to the hospital because you’re vomiting blood from the GERD, (it looks like coffee grounds in the vomit) ask for the medical social worker right away.

Or ask your general physician for a referral. If you have been visiting regularly for checkups, they will willingly recommend a medical social worker because they will know you and your family situation.

I am so sorry to hear you are having a terrible experience, I am as well. For some it’s a blessing, but in disguise. Unfortunately that is what it is for you and me my friend. Hang in there.

It has hit me today, as I sit in my chair at work that I don't have my belly sticking out to where it would hit the desk. Oh and I can cross my legs more comfortably. It amazes me just how much I have loss in inches vs actual pounds, I have lost 24 lbs all together. But I believe in inches all over about 3 inches. I am noticing more energy and have pep to my step. My skin is a lot clearer. My watch band is shorter by 3 notches. the little things are what I am noticing. When I bend over I don't feel out of breath or I am going to fall over ( weeble wobble).
I am having a hard time with my sweet tooth, it is very hard to not want to get some ice cream or chocolate. Candy I can do without. I have no craving really for that, just chocolate and ice cream. I have gone as far as taking Popsicle and putting them in my mixer with almond milk and making like ice cream with that/ sometimes I have added un-flavored protein powder.
I feel better everyday. The energy is great to have with having younger kids and being able to have the energy to keep up. 😃

If anyone has any advice on how to make your stomach feel better after you eat something you shouldn't have or at too fast, I would GREATLY appreciate it!! It's painful on both sides of my abdomen (like to the point I'm doubled over and using a hot water bottle in addition to medicine) and I'm really nauseous (the thought or smell of food is 🤢).
