My surgery is 11-28, I am wondering if I am the last one in November? Just curious if anyone is around or after that time?

i didn’t think post op liquids would be hard for me, but I am behind. walking and sipping is my life. i bought too many clear beverages when all i really care for is Water, broth, juice (4 oz day) … the artificial sweetener is not that great to me in the clear beverages after an ounce or two

Thank you for keeping us posted on these things. It helps to kind of know what to expect. I know everyone is different but just seeing some of the post op things to know may happen is helpful. I am so happy for you that your surgery is over and you are on the mend.

my main incision 3 days post op… bruising and swelling reducing. still very tender and i need to brace it standing up or sitting down… glue coating on it, no bandages. 34 oz Fluid today total, so behind but sipping away… go from Clear Liquids to full liquids tomorrow

Good luck to the Nov sleevers this week!

to all done last week: post an update please!

to those prepping: you got this :)

day 4 post op:

really focusing on getting liquids today. Got 34 oz yesterday and that was a struggle. I have 6 incisions and only 1 hurts, the big one.. it is heavily bruised and hurts when I get up and down or move wrong, but bearable. So far I am down 3.8 lbs, which is great because I was sure I would be up after surgery with all of the fluids they put in me!

I’m glad I took this week off.. I have low stamina and have been going to bed around 830 pm, sleeping four about four hours, up for about an hour or two then getting a little more rest… still have a little gas, stil sometimes have pain swallowing, still occasionally hiccup, still have occasional waves of nausea (under 30 seconds but waves over me)…

going from clear liquids to full today.. not sure what I am going to try first yet! Doing beef broth for Breakfast so I have hydration before attempting something new.

As soon as the sun is up I am going to do more pecan walks in my backyard. Picked up a bunch with my stick so far (no bending.. ouch ouch that couldn’t happen right now)

I have giggled a few times about your term 'nut walks' earlier! :) Glad to hear you are doing well!

It's surgery week and today is the first time I've really felt any jitters - just overall in general. I imagine it's a control thing :) because it is manifesting in a drive to get alllllll the things done - complete half done projects, purge the closet, get Christmas started/ready, organize stuff that's been that way for years.... Anyone else feel a sense of nesting before their surgery?

Hope everyone that went through surgery last week is doing and feeling good!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
