So guys. HOW did I lose 5 pounds in 1 day??? I mean, I was expecting to be a little heavier because of all the fluids from the IV for 2 days, but instead, I'm actually down 5 pounds??? I'm not knocking it, of course, but it caught me off guard lol I'll be weighing myself once a week. I refuse to do daily weigh ins and get upset when it fluctuates a pound or so either way.

I've been struggling with gas pain, and thanks to the great suggestions, my husband went out and got me a heating pad and it's starting to help. Also having pain from the incisions, but I was already expecting that. And the PAIN from taking my pills was the worst of all. BUT, I started taking them with warm broth and it's been a game changer. Still takes me almost an hour to take them since I get full really fast, but at least it's pain free taking them now.

I asked for pictures and got them lol. My husband was grossed out while my Dr and I discussed what she did and she said my liver was impressive and that she wouldnt have needed the retractor because the liver was only hanging over the stomach alittle bit. She was showing me everything in the pics lol. All while my hubby was in the corner gagging lol

So glad you're through everything and back here already SD! Are you home again? I also lost 5lbs on the day of surgery but it was a full 2 weeks before I lost anything more. So weird how different it is for everyone.

Yes I'm home. I had surgery on Tuesday and came home Wednesday afternoon.

I was given a pxt too. I laughed when he gave it to me. He also gave me a pxt of my gall mid surgery when he removed that too.

Your weight loss the first week or two can be erratic. You can come out of hospital weighing more from the Fluid they pump into you. You can one out weighing less because you’re eating so little & may have experienced diarrhoea. Some surgeons say don’t weigh yourself for a couple of weeks because some people can fluctuate a lot - fluid retention, fluid loss, Constipation, diarrhoea, struggling to eat, etc. I came out almost 4lbs heavier after my gall surgery. A couple days later spent 24hrs peeing continuously & lost about 3lbs overnight.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
