I have bipolar disorder so my meds made me a slow loser but I am sitting at five pounds from a “normal” bmi. I keep saying that I may have to add in some exercise to lose the rest. I am very happy with my progress though and even if I didn’t lose anymore I would consider the surgery a success for sure. Trust the process. It works.

I still have not had my surgery but i know about them liquid diets because i have a condition called diverticulosis. Every so often i have to go on them and man i absolutely hate them with a passion. Best thing is to keep your mind occupied. Find something to do to keep your mind off of food. Video games, movies, shopping, ect...

You should be able to eat anything that you can puree in a blender at this stage. Whatever you can stand blended up has to be better than what you are eating now. I tried pureed pea Soup, pureed tuna fish and canned chicken, pureed carrots, even baby food in the jar would give you some different flavors and go down OK.

I don't know if this will work for you but I tried shaved ice with just the ice by itself and nothing else. It felt like when I had the liquid diet that Soup broth, Protein Shake, and Water were all I was able to do if any because it was hard to keep down and I had to do the liquid diet for 3 weeks longer because I had a high BMI to start off.

Sorry to hear that , luckily i haven’t had any issues keeping anything down no nausea or vomiting at all . Knock on wood ! I’m just exhausted with the Soups shakes and Water .

very weird that they have you on full liquids for that long. I was only on full liquids for a couple days then to puree.

Early on cravings might occupy your mind. I'm going to my 6 month next Monday. It gets easier, and more routine. Right now, my best advice to you is occupy your mind with something else. I used to throw my headphones on, water bottle in one hand, Protein Shake in the other, and go walking. If it's too early for that, reading is great, or binge a series, or play an involved video game. Anything to not think about food, and just get your 6 and 2 in.

Yep, they wouldn't do this with any other condition. It goes in the 'Ways To Punish Fat People For Being Fat" pile. As if we somehow have to suffer through it to atone for our moral transgressions.

The moral transgression of ... eating food.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
