Had gastric sleeve on Nov 1st. Had to stay a week in the hospital because a night nurse gave me Tylenol pills the first night and my stomach decided to swell. I was NPO (nothing by mouth? For 5 days. Came home on the 7th and the 12th developed lactose intolerance to all my Protein Shakes and yogurts everything I had for Protein. It’s been a struggle getting enough protein, today I’ve been so bloated and burping constantly the Dr now thinks it could be my gallbladder or my small intestine is not digesting well. I’m a little frustrated but trying my best.

You too! They actually bumped my date up to the 18th. I’m home now settling in, stomach is sore and working on getting fluids in.

My program refers to the entire 2-week thing as a "liquid diet," but part of the plan is a Protein Bar every day plus either a banana or 8oz of low-fat milk (for potassium). It becomes strictly liquid-only 2 days before surgery, though. For me, that will happen on Saturday. I love bananas, so that was an easy choice at first, but right now I'm desperate for any variety so I'll be switching to 1% milk this week. :) And they only provided 12 Protein Bars to begin with (smart bariatric center!), so I won't have to remember to stop eating them. I have my pre-op nutritionist appointment tomorrow morning, and Wednesday morning is the pre-op with my surgeon. I have a feeling this week will go by really fast!!

My surgery was on 11/01. I only had a liquid only diet the day before my surgery. I guess each doctor protocols are different for pre-op requirements.

I think I needed to create my own topic for my question so I did. Couldn't see how to remove this one.

*Raises hand*
I had gastric bypass on Nov 18, also in Mexico. Been feeling great since then except for some bouts of fatigue. I have a TOUGH time getting up in the morning (always have, but caffeine used to help). Check in with my local GP tomorrow and hoping to be cleared for more activity!

So, I'm a little more than two weeks out from surgery. Seems like every evening I deal with some back pain. It's more middle of the back... possibly near my kidneys. It's an annoying ache. I thought it might be from not getting enough Water or from the fact that I have started to add some pureed items to the diet choices, but I can't figure it out. Anyone else?

Health Consciousness: The increasing awareness among individuals about the health issues linked to high sugar consumption, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, is supporting the market growth. Consumers are becoming more health-conscious and seeking products that can provide sweetness without the negative health effects associated with sugar. This shift in consumer preferences is leading to a greater demand for low-calorie and natural sweeteners like stevia, monk fruit, and erythritol. These sweeteners offer the added benefit of having minimal impact on blood glucose levels, making them suitable for diabetic and health-conscious individuals.
Technological Advancements: Innovations in the production and formulation of alternative sweeteners are impelling the market growth. Advancements in biotechnology and food science are leading to the development of high-intensity sweeteners with improved taste profiles and functional properties. Innovations in fermentation processes enhance the production efficiency and quality of natural sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit. These technological improvements are making alternative sweeteners more appealing to both manufacturers and consumers. Enhanced stability, solubility, and sweetness intensity allow these sweeteners to be used in a wide range of products, ranging from beverages to baked goods.
Consumer Trends and Preferences: Evolving consumer trends and preferences are playing a significant role in driving the alternative sweeteners market. Besides this, there is an increase in the demand for low-calorie and sugar-free alternatives that support weight management and overall wellness.
