Hello everyone! My surgery date is 10/8 - from the band to the bypass. I am extremely nervous for the procedure and scared of this to not working. I am vegan so the food options also worry me and not getting enough of everything I need. Good luck to all of you and I would like to hear more of your stories post surgery.

They are doing both surgeries at same time? If anyone else had a band removal please reply too 🤗

My date was set yesterday - 10/13/21 - for the Sleeve. I'm self-pay, so everything is moving pretty quickly. I had to cancel a few sets of plans, but it'll be worth it!

Hi! I just signed up with Bariatric Pal, so I'm unsure how this works! I am not tech savvy! My surgery will probably be scheduled for October or November. I have fulfilled my six month insurance requirements and have gotten approved! That is, if I don't back out of having it! I've worked so hard getting here, but now I'm unsure and dealing with some other personal issues that may affect my decision! I go back and forth with it every day! I'm 65 years old and have been obese for about 20 years now, so I still remember what it is like to be thin and miss myself! But now, it is more for health reasons that I must do this surgery or lose weight on my own! I was 259 when I first signed up for program. Now I am 229 after 6 months on diet.I did great the first three months, but it gets harder because I do not like vegetables and I do not like to cook, so I am not eating as well as I should. This high Protein, low carb diet is supposed to be for life, so I'm worried about sticking to it! I'm more scared about complications after surgery than I am the surgery, although I don't like the idea of that either! Im questionsing why I'm getting this done, since I did lose some without it. Will it really make it easier because I won't be hungry? Or, will I just get sick if I eat wrong or too much!! Good luck to all y'all!

Today I’m starting the boost diet. It’s a pretty big mind trip already. Anyone else started yet?

I had lap band surgery December, 2007. I had it removed December, 2010.

Is it the actual hunger or something else?
Today I took some cbd to suppress my appetite so that hasn’t been much of an issue yet, but I’m obsessively thinking about food. Way way more than I usually do, but to be fair I probably thought of it more than an average person.

So I just finished day three of the pre-op diet. In my area it’s super restrictive with 5 boost diabetic, and one serving of a specific broth and one serving of sugar free Jello a day.

It’s not as horrible as I thought. Yet.
I’ve been “cheating” a little. I’m using CBD as an appetite suppressant. And I’ve had 3 servings of broth and two of jello a day. Way less than 100 calories for all the cheating.

I think the CBD is saving my life.

Buuuut today for the first time in my life I learned from first hand experience “don’t trust a fart”. Thank god I was at home. 🤦🏼‍♀️

How’s everyone else’s pre-op going? What’s your pre-op diet going to be?

Yes, on the same day they are removing my band and then doing the bypass. I am nervous about the pain and recovery afterwards and if I will be up and moving the same time as everyone else.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
