So I’m 2 1/2 post op and as of yesterday 6/15/21 , anything that I eat or drink is causing a discomfort. If I try drinking Water , there’s a discomfort then pain, not to mention food even a salad causes the same discomfort then pain. Anyone else experienced this? And could give an insight to what this might mean? I texted my doctor and waiting for a response but still wondering what this could be.

2 1/2 what exactly? Weeks? Months? Either way you shouldn't be eating salad. Both my nutritionist AND my surgeon said digesting lettuce isn't easy and to wait at LEAST 3 months before eating lettuce and to add something like butter lettuce first which more easily digestible then say... iceburg or romaine. As to the pain... maybe it's air getting in that's causing the discomfort. Air can get in if you're eating too fast or drinking too fast. Either way, definitely get your surgeons input! Hope you can figure out what's causing it and it gets better!

I’m 2 months. They said I can eat salads I’m allowed and it’s with spinach and it’s with anything that I’m eating as of yesterday I’m feeling that discomfort.

Has this been something you’ve had since surgery or did it develop suddenly? If it’s sudden, it may be food related or possibly a structure. Just because your plan says you can tolerate something, does not mean your stomach will be ok with it. I am perfectly fine with any types of salad/lettuce but can’t eat an egg to save my life. I’m concerned about the Water component of this though. Dehydration can easily make you end up in the hospital. How much do you think you’re drinking per day?

Romaine and iceberg are allowed on my soft foods diet since they’re mostly Water. Every plan is so different.

Suddenly (yesterday) , I was able to eat Spinach before no problem or even my morning smoothies with no issues. Since yesterday this discomfort has happened. When I drink my smoothies I usually poor it in a cup and takes sips but since yesterday anything that enters my mouth leaves a discomfort.

I would definitely call your surgery center. With surgery they want to know you are getting better each day. If you start to get worse, it could be a sign of a problem.

I’d agree to call your surgery center just to be careful and better safe than sorry. Sometimes things can end up inflamed if you are something that didn’t agree with you and there can be discomfort. I’ve vomited due to a food intolerance and then not felt right for a couple days in terms of pressure or spasming. Your stomach is still healing and can easily be irritated.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
