Flavoured may have added sugar? Look at the nutritional panels and compare with plain oatmeal.

I wouldn't think you could eat oatmeal during the pureed stage - although we may have been allowed Cream of Wheat (can't remember - it's been a few years for me - and I never did eat any Cream of Wheat then....). And the above poster is right - the flavored varieties may have sugar. If you're allowed to eat oatmeal, I'd go with the traditional and add your own flavorings.

I’m allowed to eat watered down cream of wheat on my purée stage. Can you purée the oatmeal?

Oatmeal, no matter whether it's steel-cut, rolled oats, quick oats, or even instant is not generally accepted as part of a puree diet. Too much bulk that tends to swell after it's ingested.

Cream of wheat is usually recognized as suitable for puree. No thicker than pudding consistency.

Rule of thumb: puree consistency should be similar to pudding or mashed potatoes. No lumps or chunks (no matter how small).

I didn’t think oatmeal was part of the purée stage. Maybe Soups blended up. Oatmeal is heavy.

I was eating plain oatmeal at that stage. I could only eat a few bites at at time. Mostly I ate cream of wheat. I never pureed any of my food. I just ate really soft food. I actually ate baby food at one point. Like the deserts. Maybe try it.

It's on my list of things to eat in my purée stage. I even have some recipes in that big book they give you. I'm guessing I have to really cook it down and maybe even blend it a bit 🤷🏾‍♀️ You guys think I should stay clear anyway till next week?? I've been struggling drinking those Protein Drinks so I was going to mix it in my oatmeal to ensure I'm getting my protein...

My nutritionist allows me to have sugar free oatmeal in my pureed stage. It's listed in my plan, too. I bought some sugar free instant oatmeal and they are really good. They don't cause me to have stomach spasms, nausea, or acid reflux. I make it kind of runny so I dont feel blockage in my throat. I'm on day 18 post surgery, and day 8 on pureed stage. One pack lasts me 4 meals.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
