I know that this is a super difficult part of the journey! The hardest for me, I felt. You can get through it! It’s good discipline for after surgery when you have to follow liquids and purées afterward. With that said, I didn’t eat bad food but I had a hard boiled egg a couple of times.

Some people did the chew and spit. It never crossed my mind prior to surgery but it did after. But I was so terrified that I wouldn’t be able to stop myself and accidentally swallow the food and cause a leak or a major problem. So that was an easy deterrent.

YOU ARE DOING AWESOME! You are almost there!

Try chewing on some ice chips, or freeze, or partially freeze your Protein Drinks, Jello is usually acceptable on a liquid diet - make it with unflavored Protein Powder, or with a compatible flavored Protein Drink. Anything that is liquid by the time it hits your stomach is usually OK. If you can, talk to your RD about adding some crunch or chewies to your diet that would be in compliance.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
