Your adjustment/mental to restriction

Recommended Posts

Hi, I got my second fill. Now 3cc in a 4cc band. I have excellent restriction. I can take a bite or two, and I have to chew chew chew, and then I have to wait 5-10 minutes until I can take another bite. So my meal time takes about 45 minutes, and then I am very content and full! ;)

I found the first week or two at this restriction were very stressfull. Now, I have my coffee in the AM, then lunch I start to eat, usually some turkey chilli, or tuna, something good. But, I am worried that I will adjust and find ways to slow myself down. I have been having a drink or two at night, that I know adds unnecessary calories.:paranoid

I guess I figure as long as I have this level of restriction I can afford the calories in the drinks. I guess I am just paranoid that I have to be even more restricted in order to have success. Kinda the 'must suffer' or it won't work mentality. Again, I find another 'fear' factor. Anybody else find they work more off fear than they like?;)

Just enjoy those really good restriction times, because in many people, myself included, they dont last very long. I can lose 4kg in 2 weeks after a fill and then it levels out and I can eat more easily again - so much so that even at 3ml in a 4ml band I can eat a sandwich if I take my time about it.

But its still worked! Ultra tight restriction is just not necessary for everyone, particularly active people. As long as your calories are reduced enough to continue losing, the actual level of restriction is irrelevant really. Tight "feels" as though it will work better but there's many bandsters around who can tell you that it doesnt always. Looser "feels" as if you're eating too much but there's many of us around to tell you that that doesnt always matter, that its still possible to lose weight.

Restriction is really a totally individual thing, its the one thing I think you cant really gain much from others experiences, you just have to find your own personal level that suits you best.

Littlelove, congrats on your restriction. You will have to see how you do with alcohol caloriew. In my case, since I have 2 drinks a day I typically maintain. Good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
