Refried Beans? You will only be able to eat a couple teaspoons anyway, so maybe just share with someone?

3 weeks is a little early for restaurant food, but Beans (refried beans or black beans) would probably be ok, and maybe shredded chicken, and enchilada sauce. One of my favorite soft foods meals is refried beans topped with shredded chicken and enchilada sauce, and cheese (I used Laughing Cow cheese, but a little real cheese should be ok). I think most Mexican restaurants would be willing to make you a plate with beans, chicken, enchilada sauce, and cheese if you ask for it. And you will have a lot of leftovers.

I ordered a side of refried Beans from a Mexican restaurant about two weeks out. It was 2-3 meals for me.

how about the insides of a taco? or maybe the toppings off some nachos? (would be some greens, ground meat, cheese and sauce)..or maybe a smooth gazpacho?

at 3 weeks, you *likely* will not be able to eat much, it may be easier to just bring a Protein Shake with you and enjoy the company.

good luck! ❤️

refried Beans and maybe a Soup? Refried beans were a real "go to" for me early on. Tasty, full of Protein, and easy to handle.

Why does the earth ([emoji288]) emoji show up when some asks about food? It's not in the actual post, just in the lead to the thread? Just curious.

My first Mexican food, after refried Beans in the soft food stage, was shrimp fajitas. It was three meals, and I only ate the shrimp and the refried beans. But that was at 6 weeks, per my plan.

Good luck! FYI, you want to be VERY careful if you are trying something new...I had an issue with eggs at about three weeks (it was eggs swirled into chicken broth, a la egg drop soup) and I spent the next few hours in the bathroom! That would have been horrible in a restaurant!

There seem to be some key words that trigger web links in posts, and those web links are what show the little earth icon in the preview.

What *I* wanna know is why the last word in some posts seem to be a lot smaller and italic. [emoji1787]

Agree with the refried Beans recommendations. I also had no issue handling spicy foods. One of my first soft meals was refried beans with cheese & hot sauce

What are safe foods at Mexican restaurants? 3 week post op

I like to drain a can of tortilla Soup with a strainer and dab some sour cream on top. In softs i order the Protein power bowl and customize it with whatever Proteins my pouch is tolerating that hour. How great it is that there is protein in cheese. I didnt start eating these things until 6weeks post op because my programs dietician suggested laying off spices a bit til its healed some.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
