My surgery is scheduled for Nov 30th! One week from today, I'm so excited! Question: Did you all buy chewable multi-vitamins for the beggining?

Mine is 11/30 also! I start my pre op diet tomorrow. I don't plan on taking my chewable vit until afterwards. I'm just going to take my regular Vitamins this week.

Our doctor said we could take capsule pills. We did try to do the chewable vitamins but we couldn't stomach them.

Since my post decided to duplicate itself, My wife and I had our 2 week follow up today. We have lost just over 30lbs each since our Preop diet started on October 27th. Our journey now continues with the puree stage now.

Hi everyone! I was sleeved on the 18th. My recovery has been pretty straight forward, although on the first few days after surgery I was taking quite a lot of painkillers etc. Yesterday I was feeling quite good and decided to try some scrambled egg (approved by my doctor and dietician) and it did not sit well at all..well actually it didnt sit. It came up. Today I have been back to having some painful swallows as well as such a gurgling tummy and the discomfort kind of radiates to my back. I am unsure if its muscle pain or gas pain at this point. I've spoken to the specialist today and he assured me nothing would have got damaged but just wondering if any of you have had some good days then regressed or if it's mostly just improved? I even started having some hiccups after eating today which made me a bit worried. It's all so unknown and I'm a worrier at the best of times so knowing there can be come complications and going a step backwards in terms of recovery today has me a little on edge 😅

@TracespaceCongratulations! I was sleeved on the 6th and so far things have gone well except for issues with BM. It's so interesting how surgeons/dieticians due post-op differently. There is no one blanket approach. My dietician had me on liquids for two weeks post-op and I'm now on to soft foods. I was annoyed hearing of people who went straight to soft foods after a week or less, but I trusted my surgeon and his team. I'm very fortunate that I was able to handle the stages okay so far. I might have had uncomfortable moments, but they were few and far in between that I don't remember specifics. Except for one, I was having my first bite of soft food that was too dry and apparently not chewed well enough, it was horrible. Felt like the food was going to get stuck with each bite. I then purred my food and I was perfectly fine. I suppose the food wasn't soft enough yet.

Everything does keep getting better. Listen to your body and follow it's cue. Don't push it if it's feeling uncomfortable. After reading these message boards and may others, I realize that following your body's cue are sometimes the best approach.

By the way, I read on some post that for some hiccups is when they know that they're full.

My date was 11/11 No issues except for the pain in one incision and some strange pain in the center of my belly.

Hope everyone is successful.

I'm so disappointed you guys! I am in Seattle. I finally got my insurance approval on Saturday. I called the surgeon's office yesterday and asked about getting a date, and they called back this morning. Due to COVID they aren't scheduling anyone right now. I wish everyone would wear masks and social distance so I can get my surgery!!!

That was my day too! I was anxious to get it done but didn’t realize the amount of work it was after. I mean I was told and told but didn’t realize till there was no going back.

Post op liquid diet during thanksgiving! I had bariatricpal Tomato Soup. I’m thankful for a lot, but also grateful our big family thanksgiving was cancelled this year so it was just me and my husband/kids. No need to explain turning down the turkey!

Not a traditional thanksgiving in ANY sense, so I hope to be looking back next year with a good sense of humor at my Covid-cancelled Tomato Soup thanksgiving. We all have years of great thanksgivings ahead of us.

It has hit me today, as I sit in my chair at work that I don't have my belly sticking out to where it would hit the desk. Oh and I can cross my legs more comfortably. It amazes me just how much I have loss in inches vs actual pounds, I have lost 24 lbs all together. But I believe in inches all over about 3 inches. I am noticing more energy and have pep to my step. My skin is a lot clearer. My watch band is shorter by 3 notches. the little things are what I am noticing. When I bend over I don't feel out of breath or I am going to fall over ( weeble wobble).
I am having a hard time with my sweet tooth, it is very hard to not want to get some ice cream or chocolate. Candy I can do without. I have no craving really for that, just chocolate and ice cream. I have gone as far as taking Popsicle and putting them in my mixer with almond milk and making like ice cream with that/ sometimes I have added un-flavored protein powder.
I feel better everyday. The energy is great to have with having younger kids and being able to have the energy to keep up. 😃

If anyone has any advice on how to make your stomach feel better after you eat something you shouldn't have or at too fast, I would GREATLY appreciate it!! It's painful on both sides of my abdomen (like to the point I'm doubled over and using a hot water bottle in addition to medicine) and I'm really nauseous (the thought or smell of food is 🤢).
