Hi all! I had mine on Aug 27 and overall minus some soreness and just trying to figure things out it went ok. I kind of felt like I wasn't doing the best job but had a talk with my nutritionist and she felt like I was right on track so I will take it.

Started phase III yesterday and I have to say I was really nervous about it (dr. cleared me to start a day early). I have yet to throw up since surgery and I really didn't know what to expect. My first two meals went ok - I measured out a 1/4 cup and started there. I couldn't really tell if I was full and I never feel hungry - ever. I figure I'll just eat what I'm supposed to - put myself on a schedule and go from there.

I'm down 31.2 since I've started, 19.2 preop and then 12lbs since surgery (2 weeks today).

I guess I just have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that I will lose weight... none of it seems real to me at the moment but I have hope that things will continue to progress over the next few months.

I will say that I'm grateful for this forum - I scoured it before surgery and again after as I was running into different issues over the past two weeks. It's been so helpful so thanks to everyone who has posted their experiences!

J

Congrats on the lbs lost i too am shocked to see the scale result when i stand on it

I drink my 64oz with Propel Water that has 15g Protein, 0 cal, 0 sugar, 0 carb. Had surgery on 8/28/20, no discomfort, no pain. liquid intake finally hit the 64oz this week. It took time for me to reach this goal. My goal is decreasing my BMI to 20 or less. BM x1 per day thus far. I avoid any sugar or soda to avoid dumping. Got Propel water from Sam's club.

July 17th was my RNY surgery! I’m down near 45lbs since starting my program last September. 20 for surgery, 25 after. I’m tolerating most foods with exception to Greek yogurt and Beans. I am aversive to Water and Protein Shakes in the AM. ☹️ but pushing through.

I’ve had some mood swings and light Hair loss. I am feeling pretty awesome and my clothes are getting pretty big!!! My goal is 125, my start weight was 213 so I have just about 43lbs to go!!! I should mention I’m a shorty measuring in at 5’1”!!

Yesterday makes 3 weeks out for me and I weighed in today at 28 pounds. I'm 3 pounds away from being back under 200 and I can't wait.

Awesome!! I did 20lbs prior and 25 since surgery! I just hit my 1/2 goal. I have a hard time getting things down in the mornings but am able to eat drink better after 11. I’m wearing “normal” size clothes for the first time in probably 8 years!

Mairead,

My RNY was August 20 and I also already have Hair loss. All my research says it’ll come back when nutrients level out. Don’t panic :)

My RNY was 8/31/20. My starting weight before the 2 week preop liquid diet was 220lbs. My weight day of surgery was 211. Was in the hospital for 2 days. CW is 189. I have lost a total of 31lbs. I am 3 weeks postop. No nausea, just a bit of discomfort when I drink Water. Still on stage 2 liquid diet until 9/22. Starting my walking plan today. My goal weight is 125lbs. Im super excited!!!

Hi hi :)
I had my RNY August 26th - down around 25 since surgery and 70 in total since HW. I finally feel like myself again - I can’t wait till I am clear to workout.
No complaints, still getting the hang of eating. The biggest struggle I am finding is that I have no desire to eat but still will continue to eat what I am suppose to and get my Protein in.

Your program has a support group?? Wow. That’s such a good idea, wish mine did too 🤩

Its been awhile since I played basketball so I have been practicing lol but I would never had even volunteered to do this 70lbs ago!

It has hit me today, as I sit in my chair at work that I don't have my belly sticking out to where it would hit the desk. Oh and I can cross my legs more comfortably. It amazes me just how much I have loss in inches vs actual pounds, I have lost 24 lbs all together. But I believe in inches all over about 3 inches. I am noticing more energy and have pep to my step. My skin is a lot clearer. My watch band is shorter by 3 notches. the little things are what I am noticing. When I bend over I don't feel out of breath or I am going to fall over ( weeble wobble).
I am having a hard time with my sweet tooth, it is very hard to not want to get some ice cream or chocolate. Candy I can do without. I have no craving really for that, just chocolate and ice cream. I have gone as far as taking Popsicle and putting them in my mixer with almond milk and making like ice cream with that/ sometimes I have added un-flavored protein powder.
I feel better everyday. The energy is great to have with having younger kids and being able to have the energy to keep up. 😃

If anyone has any advice on how to make your stomach feel better after you eat something you shouldn't have or at too fast, I would GREATLY appreciate it!! It's painful on both sides of my abdomen (like to the point I'm doubled over and using a hot water bottle in addition to medicine) and I'm really nauseous (the thought or smell of food is 🤢).
