Laser was not an option in my program. Laser sounds like it would be quicker healing but it sounds like a newer technology that might not have all the kinks worked out. I’m going to look it up for sure now. You’ve got me curious.

I'm sorry, WishMeSmaller was right, I meant laparoscopic not laser. Please excuse my ignorance *facepalm*

Hello today is day 17. Over the weekend I experienced a food bolus obstruction. I posted that experience in another thread. I want to cross post because this is something that is important. I’m home now and back to stage 1-2 of eating. I have to build my way back to purée.

Congrats. I’m scheduled for surgery sept 2 . I’m a little nervous
My surgery is also for September 2nd. I am praying it doesn't get rescheduled. I'm nervous, too. I am just now starting to post on this site. What state are you in?

The pain was way more unpleasant than the puking. Puking is way different now than before and I consider it an improved puking experience. [emoji23][emoji23] I did call my surgeon’s office and they weren’t concerned, so I wasn’t either. I have puked four times since surgery and the fish early on was the worst. I also puked up soft, white watermelon seeds early on, and my morning pills more recently. I think I took the pills too fast and they pretty much came right back up. I took them again at a slower pace and they stayed. It is bizarre how casual it feels now to puke. I HATED puking before surgery.
OH LORD! I'm with you! Terrified of vomiting. Always have been. When I was younger and drank a little too much everyone else told me to just puke, I was like no!! I will take a 2 day hangover. Lol. So, I'm glad to hear you say that it's better lol after surgery.

Same! 😂 When I was younger and drank too much, I would never puke, fighting it all the way. Keep in mind I did have bypass, which I think contributes to the improvement as there is no stomach acid or bile in the vomit. It is also not that gut wrenching feeling anymore. My husband says it’s like baby spit up, and I would agree. Bizarre!

Lol. "Baby spit up?" lol heck yes!!! I didn't realize that about the bile and stomach acid. Duh! That's great info. Thank you. So glad to hear it's better now. Now I'm not so skeered! :)

Day 18 - less stomach pain today. I am coming to the realization that I can no longer tolerate dairy. Eating ricotta is causing me to have gas pains almost immediately. I did a lot of listening to my body today. I felt some grief today walking around the store. I saw all my old food choices that are no longer an option. My mind is still telling me that cheese doodles would be good right about now. I didn’t think I would have a sadness or feelings of loss but I do.

Hi!
I’m glad that you’re feeling better! I’m on day 8 and yesterday was the first day I had strength to walk around the grocery store. But right now, I still cannot fight my nausea nor this awful bloating.
Do you have any suggestions?

I take gas x for the gas pains. I didn’t experience a lot of nausea. I have a suggestion about introducing dairy products. I think that I became very lactose intolerant after the procedure. I would try lactose free products to see if it reduces gas and bloating. The walking helped me to clear out the gas because it moves the bubbles through the bowel. Hope these tips are helpful.

Day 21 - progressing to soft foods. This morning I had 2 eggs scrambled with 1/2 tsp of smart balance with low fat Mexican cheese blend. It was a bit dry so I used Sabra guacamole in the single serving size on the side. Delicious! I tried a 1/4 cup of daisy low fat cheese which I ate after taking two lactase enzyme pills. For dinner I grilled frozen tilapia with 1 tsp of olive oil. I chopped it well and served it with 3 tabs plain yogurt mixed with Lipton dry vegetable Soup mix. I ate very slowly using an infant feeding spoon. I stopped when I felt full and finished the rest as tolerated. I’m getting bored with plain Water. I’m going to see about getting some Crystal light powders to change things up. I’m craving pink lemonade flavor. I put on a little makeup today which I haven’t done in a long time. I don’t want to wear any shabby clothes either. I’m tossing them out. I don’t want to save any big clothes. I know how big I got. I have pictures that cause me great pain to look at. No need to keep the outfits.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
