I got the call today and mine is scheduled for August 11th - assuming Cigna insurance approves. Anyone else have Cigna and know how long it took to get your approval?

1 week semi liquid (Protein shakes twice a day, lean protein/veggie dinner) pre-op diet.

8/3 for me I’m having gastric bypass! It’s to fix my hernia after gastric sleeve 3 years ago. My surgeon put me out for 6 weeks to recover

My surgery is August 19th also! 4 days before my birthday, so happy early birthday to me. Congrats and good luck! What Protein will you be using for your liquid diet?

YoouniqueNY I only have a liquid diet for the day before. I was sleeved 3 years ago and they will fix my hernia and do a gastric bypass on 8/3. I drink a Protein Shake everyday so as soon as I can I will continue that it’s delicious and filling

My liquid diet is for 2 weeks before. I bought a bunch of the Atkins Advantage shakes. They're the best tasting ready to drink shakes I've found so far. I'm so excited for you. That's so soon!

@YouniqueNY I'll be using the PremierProtein - I seem to like them the best. Found a new flavor (Apple Cinnamon) last week that is fantastic for Breakfast. On the sweeter side, so I tend to drink it slower. Also experimenting with some of the flavored waters. A good friend of mine said to make sure I also get some broth as the sweet drinks will start getting old after a couple of days.

Congrats on your surgery date and birthday! Way to start off a "new year" with a "new you"!

A friend of mine gifted me some Unjury broth Protein Powder. I'm nervous to try it because I'm such a picky person when it comes to taste. But I've definitely been thinking about how sweet everything is and I can imagine its going to be a lot.

Does your diet allow anything like vegetables or oatmeal? My surgeon is very strict and the only wiggle room is for no sugar Jello.

Unjury broth remains one of my favorites, and I ordered a bunch for my second surgery. I'm sensitive to fake sweeteners (more so after my VSG) and the savory Proteins are free of it!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
