I’m in Kentucky and my surgery is next month. They gave me appointment for my COVID-19 test before I left the doctors office. I have to go 2 days before surgery. My fear is I will test positive. I don’t want to be put off.

There are two tests, the long q-tip that most people think is uncomfortable or a shorter one that people can do themselves under supervision that most people think is pain free.

I had to have it 3 days before my surgery and it was a terrible experience for me but maybe it’s the person giving it that makes a difference? And btw I am 4 days post op and wish I had never got the bypass surgery, I am so sick and sore nobody tells you the aftermath of bypass surgery, I wish I could take it all back but what’s done is done, I wouldn’t advise anyone to have it, I thought I was at the end of my rope but I would gladly go back to a personal trainer and dietician to lose the weight it’s not worth it to me, please know the facts beforehand, I just pray I get better each day

I’ve had to do it twice now for work. The first time was a swab in the nose and the other was a throat swab. Throat wasn’t bad at all. The nose was slightly uncomfortable. The nurse had described it as a feeling of Water up your nose and some pressure, that was pretty spot on. I’ve learned that it really depends on the nurse doing it. If the nurse isn’t that good it could be really painful. Thankfully mine wasn’t bad.

@Conniebonds , sorry you feel badly. Your reaction, pain and regret, is incredibly common but most people grow to love their WLS. Good luck and feel better soon.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
