Hi everyone, im 4 weeks post op gastric bypass. I have lost 8 kg so far, but mostly due to not being able to eat either due to liquid diet or my recent ulcers

i feel fine now. But im afraid the honeymoon period is already over. Im no stranger to weight loss surgery this is my third...i just feel a type of exhaustion coming over me...i have lost 30 kg in the past...and now thinking about my 8 just seems like im such a long way off...especially since this time i started heavier than before. I dont have access to psych support..im wondering if at least i can find some people to talk to here...

...i still crave food...i had 12 pieces of sushi today...why am I tolerating this much food? I feel too heavy to exercise, my back and knees hurt...i just feel i did all this for nothing its a very dark day for me today i feel i will never reach my goal

Today may be dark but tomorrow can be a little brighter. Take a little time every day to recognize what you hope to accomplish and how you will get there. Try to actively plan for your success.

don't chase the "full" feeling. I can't even eat 12 pieces of sushi at almost five years out. Measure out what you're supposed to eat and just eat that, even if you're not "full" when you're finished. Besides, you've likely had more nerves cut with this surgery - it'll take awhile for them to regenerate.

Really? So why can i eat this much :( ...ive been trying to reset my brain but to be honest im not sure how to walk away from a meal not full. What do you mean nerve endings? When they heal i should be able to eat less?

no - I meant you'll feel restriction when the nerves are healed (and when you're eating solid food).

I'm afraid you'll have to learn how to walk away from a meal when you're not full or it's going to be a real bear to lose the weight. I get it - I deal with this every day. But for me it's either that or gain the weight back. This isn't easy!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
