Lmfao I can’t take this post serious but I would honestly wait atleast the 6-8 weeks when your stitches should be healed. Then after to hell with all the logic and do your line to each is own 😂 but I for one definitely want to have a successful surgery especially after all that work and pain I went through to get it done. Have fun with your disco biscuit

I'm not going to respond to the obviously stupid troll post but I did want to ask about this:

i didn’t know nsaids would be off the table for life.

Who told you NSAIDs are off the table? I've been taking voltaren since before my sleeve surgery and continue to do so. Fortunately I have been able to cut it down to once a day, but it is still every day that I take them. Both my PCP and my surgeon were totally cool with it since it is regulated and monitored.

If you have had a bypass, as Darktowerdream has, NSAIDS are off the table for life. My surgeon really hammered this home before I got a bypass. It certainly wasn't a deal breaker as I already couldn't take them since they had a tendency to eat holes in my stomach....Apparently people with sleeves can still take them, but RNY people can't.

Just make sure you tell your anesthesiologist if you use cannabis, in some patients it makes putting you under harder I guess. I had never had any surgeries before but I read several articles about this. So every where I turned I made sure they knew. I had no problems that I know of, I mean no said anything after. Just make sure you tell your during pre-op appointment and surgeon and everyone. Just to be safe.

Hey there Ostflicka! Pre-op appointment today, surgeon said medical marijuana was fine with him but pls run it by anesthesiologist. I did, and she said it’s fine the night before but not day of surgery. She said “While we still don’t have a lot of data on it, we DO know that people have been (illegally) using marijuana for the past 60+ years, and we have never had issues”. Thanks for encouraging me to run it by them!....gives me peace of mind and will be better than any other pain med post surgery.

since i can’t drink or smoke since i got my surgery a week ago .... cant i just do a few lines of coke... i’m serious please

NO! Cocaine is highly addictive, and now that you are forced to give up your food addiction, you will be at higher risk than ever for a life-threatening drug addiction. Get whatever psychological support you need to get through this and stick it out through the hard beginning.

Why do you want to do cocaine?

I have a gastric sleeve and was also told no NSAIDs. I have chronic pain and take Tramadol, Tylenol, and Flexeril.

I highly recommend pot if it’s legal where you live and DOESN’T make you hungry.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
