HI all, I had revision from banding to bypass in October and I feel like there is something in my throat constantly on the left side ever since. Does anyone else have this issue. I also have gotten sick once and maybe TMI; but how else do you find these things out.... when I was sick my vomit only came out the right side of my throat. Wondering if anyone has had this experience or should I be concerned????

Could it be tonsils or adenoids? I would definitely be seen by a dr if I had this issue.

I had both of those out as a kid; so nope.

See your Surgeon and voice your concerns. They may order an endoscopy because it could be a number of things including webbing or stricture

Good Luck 💚

My ears and throat were affected after surgery. I felt like someone had stuffed my head full of cotton wool. It took about a month to resolve. Yours has been going on for a long time so I would be going back to see your Dr. You may need antibiotics

Adenoids and tonsils can and do grow back, go see your Dr to get investigated. It must be so annoying!

Turned out sinus infection and nasal drip was causing irritation to my throat. Thanks all for the confirmation that I wasn’t losing my mind.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
