I have lost a total on 45 pounds in a month and a week. Everyone can see a difference in my body and face but when I look in the mirror I see no change at all. I still think the clothes fit me the same and nothing is changing with my stomach. Anyone going through it? I hear most wls patients go through it, I might end up seeing a therapist for it honestly.

Do you have any before photos and a current photo? Sometimes what we can't see in the mirror we can see in photos.

I would think with a loss of 45lb with your start weight, that 45lb would be reasonably noticeable paricularly with clothing, unless you were wearing really tight clothing or elasticised clothing before your weight loss.

have someone take photos every month on your surgery date. There were times I couldn't see my progress, either, but when I compared photos from different months, yep - there it was. Clear as day!

Body dysmorphia is real and very weird. It really does take a while for the brain image to connect with the body image. When I was fat, I never thought of myself as anything but a little overweight. When I look at old pictures, I am horrified at how fat I really was. Then I had surgery and the lost 100 in 6 months. Wow. I then still "thought: of myself as overweight and felt like I had "lost" ME, as my body looked so differently in the mirror. All the new wrinkles and sags and disappearing breasts made me look like a very old woman. I lost confidence and thought people looked at me like I was an old hag. Now, after 10 months, my weight has stabilized and a lot of the sags have somehow become less. People actually tell me that I look younger and very healthy. "Amazing" is a word I hear now. And now that I am feeling amazing physically and doing things I never would have dreamed of a year ago, I am starting to see myself that way, too. It is truly an up-and-down experience, one I was not prepared for, but am now happy with. My brain is finally accepting the new body image as being ME - I didn't ever lose ME - I just needed to find ME again in a new and different way. You will, too. It just takes time.

I DID AND STILL DO TAKES A WHILE FOR THE BRAIN TO CATCH UP WITH THE BODY

5 years post op and It's literally all I see when I look in the mirror. Everyone tells me I look great or that they cannot believe I was ever morbidly obese, but I still cannot get the fat guy out of my head. You are definitely not alone.

Nope I have always worn bigger clothes that were two three sizes up and @AJ Tylo is right the head games is terrible even if I take pictures it’s sad that I can see it a bit but still think wow she’s not losing anything and is still really huge.

wow this is so true that is all i still see everyone else see s me different i still see the same now i know there is changes still see the same person though
