Morning Lower abdomen burning, Diarrhea and nausea

Recommended Posts

Hello,

My doctor hasn’t been any help. I wake up at least 3x a week with burning in my lower abdomen, nausea (drooling), and diarrhea.

It only happens in the mornings and comes in waves. Anyone else experience this and found the problem?

Thank you!

yep sounds EXACTLY like my lactose intolerance, took me ages to figure out that was what it was. Even lacto free milk does it to me!! Try 5 days no dairy see what happens :)

How far post-op are you? Does it happen after certain foods?

I’m 8 months post-op. My doc says it might be acid reflux but I had RNY which seems so odd to me. I haven’t noticed a pattern in foodS. Based on the suggestions of watching dairy I will try that though!

Really?! I will watch dairy and see what happens. So odd that it’s delayed to the next morning. I do eat string cheese so I will cut that out and see if it helps.

thank you!!!!

I’m 3 weeks post op, on purées and have the exact same problem. Go to bed like usual and first thing in the morning, chills, cramps, nausea, then diarrhea. Some have suggested lactose related. Did you ever figure it out? If so, what did you eat until it got sorted. Feeling very limited as eggs, shakes, cottage cheese, and mashed potatoes were getting me through this stage. I feel very depressed as the symptoms have increased and I now get it 3 times a day even with Imodium AD.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
