I miss plain boiled, long grain rice. It was my favourite food in the world best with a very hot indian curry.

I'm 5 days post op and am so over everything liquid. I had a 2 week preop liquid diet. I'm on full liquids until 2 weeks post op. I just need something/anything textured and more flavor! I can't wait until the pureed stage!!!! I want tuna, chicken or egg salad and some super soft veggies with seasoning.

I would love any suggestions!!

I was in a liquid diet for 2 weeks pre op and now for 3 weeks post op. I still have over a week before puree stage. I honestly will eat anything with flavor and texture. Some fish or salad will be fine. I got up this morning thinking I could have real food like eggs. Liquid diet is definitely harder than anything else for me.

Honestly? I miss Pepsi. I loved the bubbly-ness of it. And REAL sweet tea. The diet tea is ok, but it’s not the same. But I’m finally ok with that. If that makes sense. 🙂

Why are we not allowed rice?

I was told to avoid it because it expands like bread and Pasta and forms a Gummy ball in your stomach. Then that doesn’t leave room for the Protein that will keep you satisfied for longer so you will eat again too soon.

Ah. thank you, I haven’t been told that but will avoid where possible.

It is weird but I don’t crave all of my favorites anymore.

I am two months post op and I hope I keep feeling like this forever!

I’m just so obsessed with getting to goal that I think I’ve convinced myself that all of my faves are evil. Lol

I'm lucky that I've found healthy options for most things I liked, and I didn't eat junk food before, however... I miss Cookies, particularly homemade chocolate chip cookies like the size of your head. :D

I baked them with my daughter last night and I didn’t try one! It seemed so unnatural!

Those are all such good healthy foods. Why can't you eat them? (Or are you still in a soft food phase?)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
