Unfill & rapid weight gain

Recommended Posts

I had a band fitted 5 years ago and was happy with the weight loss. For the last year I developed severe reflux , night cough, sliming. Etc. Surgeon reduced my fill by half and the symptoms disappeared immediately. BUT I’ve also gained a ton of weight in 2 months , feel no restriction and get severe bloating. Anyone else have this problem . Going to try a little fill ( after the holidays !!🤪)

Are you eating more quantity per meal or eating different foods, eating more frequently now? What's behind the gain?

HI, My name is Robyn. I had lap band surgery over 10 years ago. In my later 40's I also had really bad acid refux and had an unfill. I just can't get a fill again. I still have acid refux at times but Nothing like I had. I take meds for it and it seems to be ok. I know this is a side affect from the surgery. After I wen't through menopause my weight started creeping up. I am now over 200 lbs again and it makes me very sad. I have no idea how to start a NEW. I know I need to start some where but just not sure what to do. Our RD at the office is horrible she knows nothing she is no help.

Any suggestions wold be great...

Thanks

All I can say is that I had my fill reduced from 8 to 4 and the acid stopped immediately . Surgeon said if that didn’t work he’d check to see if band had slipped as that can cause reflux

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
