Fingers and toes numb

Recommended Posts

So after losing 130+ pounds, I’m always cold...but tonight I attended a football game, I was dressed appropriately for the 43° weather. I had on gloves and boots but my fingers and toes went completely numb. It took nearly an hour, once we left the game, for the feeling to fully return. How am I going to survive winter this year if I can’t even tolerate fall weather??? 😩

I hear you! And I'm in Arizona! I am wearing socks to bed and sweaters every where. This past summer was the most enjoyable I can remember - even on the hot days! I used to need the AC turned to 68, just to sleep. Now I am perfectly comfortable at 80. My fingers and toes get cold, too. What a difference a layer of blubber makes! there's a reason seals and whales can live in cold water!

Hot hands and toes are my favorite cold weather aid. It's the only thing that got me through the game last Friday lol.

Wish I had invented them, they are a GodSend and THINK of the royalties I'd be raking in!

that's really common. I eventually got to the point where I was no longer cold all the time, but some people remain cold YEARS after surgery.

Think I'll be one of THEM, used to mock my older relatives with their. cardigans and such all the TIME- hello that's ME. One of my BFF asked her hubby for a blanket sleeper with footies attached- hmmm Wonder if the make them in a 16/18? Hey Just had one of my Flashes of Brilliance- Wal-Mart had jammie- styled Halloween outfits, even in grownup sizes, don't care if I look like a Dragon, Pig or Lambie, Praise GOD I just MIGHT BE WARM and besides the price is 50% off! HELLO CLEARANCE AISLE, I'm coming to YOU!

I am also much colder since surgery. I dread going out to feed the critters, especially on these 30 degree mornings!

I dread the grocery stores - they are sooooo cold. If I need a frozen item, I almost run to get my item and get out! I work in a hospital, which are always cold. My fingers are freezing all day long - from the AC and also from hand washing all day long. My poor patients! I try so hard not to touch their skin!

I try to keep a jacket in the car for going to the store and hospitals are always freezing!

I feel like I’ll need to tape those hand warmer things all over my body this winter ☹️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
