Welcome back

You are not alone in having a gain year’s out. Working weight back down can be done.

  • Some of us change up diet plans – Whole 30, paleo, intermittent fasting, vegan etc. Others do pouch reset. It does not shrink your pouch, it may help to feel restriction more and get back into healthy habits.
  • Whatever plan you choose -Go back to basics: Log your food in an app (myfitnesspal) – stay within your weight loss calories and macros, exercise/activity and hydrate.
  • Get temptation out to the house and go shopping for foods on your plan
  • Years out most of us have extra sleeve space. With all foods allowed on your plan…Eat dense Protein sources and as much veggies as you want until full. Veggies will keep your calories low. The bulk and Fiber will help you feel more satiated.
  • Keep healthy items on hand for sweet and salty cravings
  • Adding extra carbs and real sugar causes you to crave them more. Detox off them. It will help with hunger.

Getting your head back in the game can be a struggle. Here is a link to doing the head work.

We have a monthly weight loss challenge/motivation/accountability thread on this site. Link below.

Hi ! I agree with EVERYTHING above

Also I will also be running a November 2019 challenge that will focus on diet/lifestyle clean up. This REALLY jumpstarts weightloss for most as you pay more attention to the thubgs you let return that add extra cals. Watch for that to be posted soon! You can do this!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
