Why does everyone feel like they have to offer me food ....I'm a grown woman and I'm not 5yrs old....I understand that they are just being nice...but if I am hungry I will eat😐 I will sit over here and enjoy my Protein Shake and tuna salad.

Its hard enough dodging the office cupcakes and donuts...lol

Ok I'm done-

LOL same! It's usually people that aren't that close to me and don't know about my surgery. They'll be like FINISH YOUR food or eat this and eat that. If I say that I can't because I'm on a diet they'll keep nagging and telling me to take a break and forget about my diet for they day. Even if I did want to listen to them, I cant! ALL THAT FOOD WON'T FIT! but they don't know that so to a lot of people i'm the diet freak that won't even eat half a bagel 🤦‍♀️ oh well...

being nice by pushing the food. not true, but their thoughts

Orrrrr, some people want YOU to eat because they are heavy - and they want company with

their eating

hope all is well bud

You already answered your own question. It's usually seen as polite to offer food. Unless you have the impression that people try to actively sabotage you it's nothing to rant about.

I often offer some food (ProudGrammy called it "goodies", lol) myself. I don't mind though if people decline. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, depending on what I offer and at what time of day.

As much as some people on here might not like it but "food" brings people together since people exist.

I'm sure your right....its just annoying or maybe I'm just growing a bit bitter at my old age🤣

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
