Its not just you - Me and you are one day apart surgery - Driving me nuts also, More More weight loss More More - Fully understand - I decided to only step on the scale Sunday morning to see by the week, The daily checks were makiing me nuts!

I have read a ton on this site and others and everyone agrees - There are Head issues with this as well as physical ones, the head games get me at times also

Thank you so much! & yes i hate the scale and wish that that didnt matter but to my surgeon the number on the scale means everything and im stuck right around between 239 and 240 im just tryin to get it moving again like it was. It is so frustrating

Thanks for posting this! I’m 8weeks out as of today and I’ve lost 39 but wondered if that was any good. I feel much better now.

Remember that each of us starts in a different place.
Even if we were to find someone the same age, gender, height,HW, and SW, you STILL wouldn’t be able to compare yourself because there are so many many complicated factors and biological systems involved with weight gain and weight loss.
I guess about the only people who could compare themselves would be identical twins, and even that could be dangerous.

As of today I’ve lost 88 pounds PO and my surgery was 2-6-19.
I know many in my February group who’ve blown me out of the Water in number of pounds lost, but I’m less than 4 pounds from GW and couldn’t be happier with my progress.
My progress was “slow, and steady”, but I’m almost there.
I won’t quite hit GW by Saturday, and the story of this entire process for me has been falling short of monthly weight loss goals (I think in the 8 months PO, I’ve only hit a goal on time just ONCE) but I’m going to keep plugging away and working the plan.

Guys, this is a marathon, not a sprint bc it is something that will have to be managed for the REST OF OUR LIVES.

Here is my progress report.
Yes,there was a few week period of complete free-fall right after surgery and then slow and steady thereafter

You are doing great. I was at 203 post op and have only lost 19 lbs at 6 weeks. I’m 5 feet tall. I was doing ok until the purée phase. Keep up the great work.

Current weight is 240.

Surgery date was 7-18-19

I’m in the pre-op phase and I’d be tinkled pink if I lost 45lbs in 2 months doing all those yo-yo diets . Just remember how hard it was to drop weight before surgery. (I’m probably going to need to remind myself of this too)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
