Normally I don't, but I'm going to be with my in laws for Thanksgiving and have been invited to go. I still haven't really decided yet, lol.

Just FYI. go the the website Black Friday 2007 Thanksgiving Day Black Friday Ads at Black-Friday.net. they have had a lot of stores sales posted on there for about a month. the cool part is, each store has some things that can be bought online (sometimes with free shipping to store). i'm taking advantage of that this year. i will be up at 4:00 a.m. and online. (i have pretty much all of my purchasing done, but i want one of those gaming chairs, and wal-mart has one for $30).

I would rather slit my wrists, be burned at the stake, have bamboo shoots shoved under my fingernails, and be run over by a semi repeatedly than go shopping on Black Friday!!!! :)

What can I say? I'm an on-line shopping kind of girl!

We go every year! It is without a doubt a frame of mind! We make a party of it. Make our list--go separate ways get the biggies, then shop the other more abundant specials. I have gotten amazing buys---Last year we hit Best Buy as our main store, and we will never go to them again, it was total chaos, they attempted to organize things, which is funny in its own way! Yeah, organize bargain shoppers!! But they had aisles blocked off, and lines to get into line to get into yet another line....BUT!!! I did buy stacks of 100 DVD-R recordable discs....for $5.00 a stack of 100. I bought 5!! I still have plenty. Also got Flash drives for $5.00--great stocking stuffers. But they are going to have to settle for something less scary-we got trapped in a closed aisle---if there had been a fire, it would have been horrible!

We had planned on hitting Walmart for a chance at getting the Nintendo DS Lite, for our nephews in Denver, but DH just called, and he won one at work, so no need to fight for that one....although he said he thinks it looks pink!

We get our items we went after, then we hit the angel tree, each pick an angel and do the shopping for them---drop those off at the fire dept. do Breakfast....then shop some more. By afternoon, we are 98% done. Of course I am about 75% that way already!

I had surgery Friday, so not sure I am up to Black Friday--makes me very sad!

IF you decide to go---make the choice to have fun---if you get a good buy great, if not what have you lost, but a couple of hours of shut eye! Go with someone you love---and have fun!

Kat

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO!!!!!! If I could get away with it I wouldn't leave my house until after New Years at this point...lol. I had to go to Wal-mart today to get some last minute Thanksgiving fixings and I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown before I got out of there, it was a mad house. I can only imagine what it'll be like on Friday. No way, no how! lol

Since I've been with Avon...I don't do that anymore. I found my own way of getting 50% off without having to stand in lines or get up early.

Just wish they sold XBox's... :)

So, Black Friday is some kind of pre-Thanksgiving day shopping extravanganza? Sounds like I should be glad we don't do that in Canada. But we do have Boxing Day!

Black Friday is the day AFTER Thanksgiving. It's traditionally the day of the year when businesses go from being in the red financially to being in the black. Meaning that it's the first day of the year that they actually are making pure profit. It's a HUGE shopping day, and I prefer to stay the hell out of the stores at all costs....

I'm with Kat817. I LOVE this day!!!! My mom, sister, and I are out there at the mall at 5 am, and we have a great day together just shopping and having a girls' day to ourselves. I can't wait!!! :) I look forward to this all fall - but then I love the ENTIRE holiday season with a passion. Parties, family get-togethers, cooking fun stuff, shopping, just general togetherness - this season has always been a good time in my family. My dad, who had health problems and depression issues, LOVED Christmas, and this was the one time of year when he was happiest and my parents actually got along really well. I guess those positive impressions from childhood really stuck with me because from November 1st through the rest of the year I am in a continuous good mood! :) I really miss my dad though....and always wish he were still here to enjoy it with us.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
