Try buying raw sauerkraut in your store and only drinking a spoon of the Fluid, or using kefir in your smoothies. It will do the same thing as the raw kraut juice.

I hope you don't have an infection. They tested me for the bad bugs and luckily I turned up negative on them! Woooh. Big relief!!

Sorry for your struggles. I'm still hoping it's a partial ileus and dairy intolerance for you!!! Big D is not fun!

Thanks @FluffyChix, I'm hoping its not an infection but i don't want to be lactose intolerant either! I've got about 3 dozen different types of Protein Shakes that are all dairy based and i just love milk, that would be heartbreaking!

We'll see what happens, whatever it is, I'm just going to have to deal with it.

I'll definitely go get the raw sauerkraut or kefir, hopefully something will help it as yesterday was probably the worst day for the big D, i was literally in the restroom a few times an hour. I'm keeping hydrated tho so thats good but my bum is so sore, the medicated wipes do help. TMI!

Thanks for the advice!!!

Hi, I'll be going back to work in a couple weeks, my question is, how do you cope with an office job and having to go to the rest room at least 2-3 times an hour?
Also, this is a bit graphic but the sounds of diarrhea is just embarrassing to me when I'm in public, how do you deal with it?

Awww bless you, I've been experiencing the same thing. I'm nearly 5 weeks post op. I'm seeing my surgeon and dietitian today for a post op check, so I will bring it up then.
I'm a wheelchair user aswell so sometimes it's hard to find a accessible bathroom. xxx

I had more issues with Constipation than diarrhea in the beginning, but now it's flipped as my stomach has become way more intolerant to foods. Poos all the time. Ugh. Carry spare undies and maybe spare pants in your car. Honestly, I can feel when it's coming and I haul ass to the bathroom. No apologies. lol.

So weird. I had constipation issues when they first did the RNY. And for the past 18months always maintaining the constipation thing...and now since they repaired the hernia/and untwisted my bowels, I'm having issues with the partial ileus stuff and Big D. I do ok for a few days now and then, boom baby! Howdoyoulikemenow?! LOL. Totally blew up Walmart's potty yesterday. *blush*

Hi guys, so i got the results from my poop test and i have a bacterial infection called C.diff.... most likely picked up at the hospital.

Sucks! So I'm on antibiotics.

This journey definitely has not been an easy one!

At least you have an answer to what was wrong and a cure for it! I'm so relieved and happy for you that there will eventually be an end to your suffering 🤗

Oh wow, cdiff is rough. No wonder you were going so often and that definitely explains the horrific odor.

Not that any diarrhea smells like roses but cdiff is in its own category.

I hope those meds kick in quickly and you get relief! Hugs!

Are you feeling any relief now? What did your tests show? How do you feel?

Hiya, my tests show that i have a bacterial infection called C.diff most likely picked up at the hospital urgh.. I'm on strong antibiotics.

I have alot of relief but still not completely gone, I'm going 4-5 instead of 20 odd times a day, so things are definitely looking up 😊

Thanks for asking!!!

Awww dang! I'm so sorry to hear this!!! Take all your meds and clean like crazy. It's very contagious and you can relapse with it, so do your research on how to build your gut back up after treatment!!! ((hugs))

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
