Congratulations and thanks for all your inspiring and encouraging posts as well as the fun challenges!

I've been on here since Apr '18, about 6 weeks after my surgery. Wish I'd found the site sooner!

I've only been here myself about a year and a half, but I second Orchids and Dragon' s emotion, I too have found it a wonderful support and information site!

10 years. I wanted surgery long ago, but my insurance wouldn't cover it. Not until I became disabled and got Medicare would I have surgery. I'm now just over 4 months out and 65 pounds down. Wish I could have had surgery sooner, but better late than never!

Congratulations @GreenTealael !

I have always appreciated your humor and insights here in my year or so of lurking reading.

Raising a toast to you now,

with a big bottle of endangered glacier water. 😀

Cheers!

And I'll join in with my Ensure Blue Raspberry Electrolyte powder drink, don't think I'm urinating enough, maybe the moisture is going into perspiration so this hour I'm drinking it 2 ounce cups at a time. Gosh I do miss being able to drink enough at a time to feel truly hydrated. Ah I knew in my mind that I would have restrictions. See every one else talks about "food funerals" , I mourn my pint and quart bottle bye-byes. Didn't realize the joy of a free and easy swallow!🍶

@frust8Nice to see you updated your stats! I love following your progress! But, wasn't your surgery Sept 5? It says the 4th. I only remember your date because it's my birthday!

I started reading posts a couple of months before my surgery but don't think I actually joined until after surgery. I don't post much but do find much support from others. I'm almost at my doctor's goal, but think my personal goal will be a little lower.

I tried to bring GT back some glacier, but it didn’t make it! 😩

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
