I’m on the last leg of my Stage 1 Diet and I’m craving ice cream NOT popsicles but ice cream. Does anyone know if and when I can indulge?

Ask your Doctor or nutritionist.

*I feel like this is not a serious inquiry. I apologize if it is.

Try things like fudge pops no sugar added, they're good, also skinny cow has some good ice cream just dont eat it everyday or your gonna add weight back on quickly, also breyers has a low card ice cream bar with dark chocolate that I love. Good luck just remember it's a treat.

Whoa, girl!!!! This is the time to practice coping skills - not indulgence! Indulgence is what got us where we were before surgery. We gotta leave it behind and embrace a new way of thinking, living , and eating. You have been given some good suggestions to practice now.

Probably not the smartest plan to be looking for sweet treats so early in your journey. Can set up some unhealthy patterns for the future.

Try to figure out what it is about ice cream that you're really craving... is it the cold? (blend a Protein Shake with a bunch of ice cubes for a frapaccino like texture) Is it the creaminess? Add 1/2 a banana to your Protein shake. Is it the sweet?

Whatever it is that you really are craving, there are better alternatives for you. And I also suggest spending some time learning how head hunger is different from real hunger. It really messed with my head, particularly the first couple of weeks when I was living on greek yoghurt and pureed Soup.

Stay strong. You can do this.

That's an incredible reddit post. Hilarious and problematic all at once!

Freeze sugar free pudding in a popsicle mold or just a plastic cup. You can eat a few tablespoons of whipped cream over sugar free Jello or pudding (orange jello and whipped cream reminds me of an orangesicle.

Fit n Active has a vanilla and orange sorbet bar thats really good and only 110 calories I believe. However you can only buy it at Aldi's.

my surgeon's office seems to semi-promote halo top, but I am thinking I will stay away since it gave me upset stomach before surgery, so I can't imagine it would go down well post-op. also, most of the flavors taste like crap, and it never really satisfied my ice cream craving anyway. that said, it seems like it the least of all evils if you are desperately craving ice cream and are far out enough. my nutritionist guidelines also recommended Yasso bars as early as second week post-op. They are frozen greek yogurt bars and have 6g of Protein. I was able to find this at the grocery store, and I really like them.

Yes! Yes! Yasso bars are amazing. I'm 3 weeks postop and I got the fudge bars. They're the perfect size and have a good bit of protein.

I also don't like halo top flavors, the salted caramel swirl is the only tolerable one I've encountered. However, I love nightfood and Enlightened, both are lower calorie icecreams with good flavor selection. Enlightened even has a Keto line! My two favorite flavors are enlightened cold brew and nightfood cherry eclipse but I haven't tried either postop

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
