Awww Sweet Restriction!!

Recommended Posts

I finally know what it is like to have restriction. I think my doc was just joking when they put the first fill in. I was eating more after the first fill than with the initial surgery. But I just got back from lunch and went to Schlotsky's. I had a small sliced chicken breast sandwich and could only eat half of it. I had to eat it so slow and chew a million times so it wouldn't hurt going down, but was still done after I had half.

I am reprogramming myself because I was always waiting to be so full when I ate. But, i figured out I just need the feeling that I am not hungry anymore instead of the feeling that I am so full I can't move, and that is stopping me from eating everything in front of me. I am finally working out and not stepping on the scale every day. I hope I can keep this postive move going.

I was getting worried before this second fill because I thought my band had somehow evaporated. Now that I have restriction I can see how everyone else can do this now. I was wonderin what all the hype was about. HA! Did anyone else have this experience??

Kim,

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I jsut had my second fill this morning and I'm thinking that I can feel my coffee go down slowly. My first fill was supposed to be 1.25ccs and I couldn't understand why I was able to eat EVERYTHING. I hadn't lost a pound in 3 weeks. So when he went in to take the old fill out, he said that I only had about .6ccs, half what they said it was and moved me up to 1.5ccs so I'm pretty sure there won't be any Bagels and cream cheese on this girl's plate again. I literally thought my band had disappeared.

So here's to restriction and moving forward!

Kim I havent had a fill yet and I had my surgery in May of last year. I have only lost 43 lbs. Your post makes me want a fill.I dont think I have any restriction. I can eat a whole half sized Applebys santa fe chicken salad no problem. I am trying to watch what I eat. I started the southbeach progham yesterday. Keep up the good work...Janie

Kim, I sooo know how you feel! I though I would never get restriction, but finally it's here and I am so relieved. However, mine seems to be coming and going. I'm giving it a little time, but I may ask the dr for just a tiny bit more.

A week ago I had my second fill it took me to 2.8cc. I have lost 10lbs this week. I get full so fast. I can't eat solid meat yet only hamburger or chicken salad. I to can feel my drink going through. I have been losing all along because we have been doing low carb, but now it seems to be easy. A tight fill makes all the difference.

Kim,

This is so good to hear. I just had my first fill last week (only 1cc) and I can still eat a Big Mac, NO PROBLEM. I too thought my band had left me! I am set up for a second fill this Thursday. Hope it works......

Staci - Stop buying Big Mac's and you won't eat them anymore.

Jane, get thee to a fill girlfriend, why have a band if you won't use it the way it was designed? Would you buy a car and not put gas in it? It really does help!

Jack, I wish I had the restriction early like you have. I have been working so hard since I got my fill, even hitting the Gazelle for 30 minutes a day. I got on the scale this morn and somehow I have gained weight. I was even on liquids for 4 days of last week. I know I am still averaging 10 pounds a month so I need to quit grippin and be more patient with myself. I will just have to get on that Gazelle for an hour today!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
