1400 calories for maintenance

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Quick question, I am currently 148. I am fine with this weight and size. I feel much healthier. I was wondering if 1400 is enough to maintain my weight without regaining. I try for 1200 per day but sometimes, I have trouble staying with that amount of calories. Most calories come from healthy sources and I practice Portion Control.

Thanks!

it's going to be different for everyone. I can maintain on 1700. Some people can only eat 1200. Try eating 1400 a day and see what happens. If you start gaining, then you'll need to cut back.

@codingirl79

hi newbie

you are brand new here, but i see you have lost 80 lbs - DOS. 11/6/18 - post

sleeve, that's terrific sounds, like you are doing everything right!!

being healthy and a cutie, what more could you ask for!!☺️

at 10 months out. you have to "weigh" LOL your options - how about meeting in the middle with you calories, see if you can maintain at 1300. Try it for awhile and

see what happens. Continue to up/down your calories until you are

maintaining - and feeling good

Many variables like @summerset

good luck

welcome to the boards☺️

kathy

congrats

Thank you ProudGranny!! Your weight loss is great as well!! 1300 sounds reasonable. I do have an appointment with my nutritionist next week so we will see what they say as well. I always have the fear of the weight coming back.

Thank you for the welcome!

Looking forward to everyone's support!

I’m only 6 months out. I felt like it was coming off too quick and I was already below my goal at 5 months. I increased from 600/700 to 1000 and still lost 2-3 pounds for the first week or so. Now I have maintained the same weight the past 2 weeks on the same 1000. So it may take a few weeks at the higher calories and I am assuming higher carbs to really judge where your body settles.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
