Ironically it’s changed now and I don’t feel like anything at all. I just feel weak and want to sleep all the time. I only had procedure on tue this week but I’m inpatient and hate feel weak and nothing I look at seems appetising to me.. any ideas people because I am sure I’m heading to dehydration soon. Everything tastes shitty.

And Just like A Wounded Animal you want only to retreat to Your Cave until You Feel All Better! I know you feel impatient, among other things, But Do Give Yourself permission to heal! You and Your Body have been through a lot This Week! Not all of Us leave the Bariatric Center singing the" Battle Hymn of the Republic" more of us are Muttering Under our Breath, holding on to someone or something, saying Why Me Lord? Why DID I AGREE TO ALL THIS? But like sunshine after the ☔ rainstorms, 8t Really Gets Better! We all, in some way, have limped and flinched, We Got Better, and in just a little while THINGS DO GET BETTER! Stay strong, still Sip Sip Sip, lick your sugar free Popsicles, remember almost everyone, this is what it takes, You have now paid your Dues, You are now a Part of the POST SURGERY CREW- Hurts Now, WON'T FOREVER!

When I came out of surgery Water tasted sweet to me. I asked if they put something in the water. Maybe put sweetmer in your water or cucumbers to give it flavor. The first month was just awful for me. That is my experience and not necessarily others.

One particular night I was so exhausted trying to get water in. I said f it! I went to bed at 5:30. I did end up getting fluids 2x because I just couldnt get it in.

Hang in there! I'm 4 months out and I'm completely healed and loving life. 64 pounds I have lost and it feels great!

Thanks so much, just currently I’m not hungry or thirsty I look at stuff to drink and I’m like puke.. I’m basically forcing myself and I even think of my fav fav meal and I’m like yuck. So weird been a chef and wanting nothing to drink let alone eat . I don’t mean I can’t stomach the taste of water I’ve always been a water drinker , basically I don’t want to drink anything...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
