I get this also and I realize I have been eating too fast my entire life. It takes real concentration and effort to slow down for me.

I've also learned that I can;t eat a meal at work for lunch. It just takes too long. So I am using Soup or a Protein Shake then.

Ya work lunch is an issue. I would spend about an hour eating my lunch with colleagues, then take it back to my desk and keep at it for another hour (give or take) at my desk.

I’ll be on the other side in a week but my doctor suggests that you eat what you can within 30 minutes & be done. That keeps potential grazing in check. Consider adding unflavored Protein to what you’re eating & he also explains that some people can’t tolerate meat after surgery. Try some diff ways to prepare to maybe keep juicy .... Sous vide? Just a suggestion

If I did this, I would be eating basically nothing!

I think that’s the difference though about being in the weight loss phase vs maintenance.

During the weight loss phase I would eat until I was full, and that was the end of my meal. During maintenance I have to eat longer and more frequently in order to consume enough calories to meet my BMR

This is very true.

During weight loss, I would also eat until I was full (or finished my portioned meal, whichever came first), but it still took me waaaaaay longer than 30 minutes to do either.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
